Perhaps our first significant rain of 2020 tomorrow, on tap for today is another pleasant sunny day.
Drilling holes in concrete today, an old man playing a young man's game.
Cheers

I just tidied up the front yard -- trimmed the hedge, cleaned out the low, dead pine branches. The catbird is mewing outside my window.

Another socially distanced day. But it is warm and sunny out there. Out for a walk soon.

Sheesh, I just mowed a couple days ago... and now it looks like a buffalo could hide in it. I wonder if a super light dose of Roundup would slow it down but leave it kind of green looking?

Good morning. It's been a beautiful morning. I took a walk and then came back and started digging out compost and spading it into beds that needed it. The larkspurs are now pretty much shot and my wife and I were also harvesting seeds. This week we had highs in the 80s a couple of days. This coming week it's predicted to hit 110.
Have a good day.

Warm & humid. It is supposed to rain this afternoon. A dove made a nest in one of our planters. There were two eggs. Now she/he/they have abandoned it & there is only one egg. Mysterious dove activity. I need to remove it, I guess. Other than that, everything is pretty damned quiet.

I was going to post a picture of the spring run Chinook I caught yesterday, but as you might be able to tell from my recently started post, I am having some difficulty.
It was a great day on the McKenzie River, about 15 miles east of Eugene, Oregon. I had never caught a salmon in a river. On our last stretch of fishable river before the boat takeout, we decided to make just one more run through some swift water. The salmon hit the bait and tore line out. It swam under the boat a couple times, making me dance around, placing my pole tip in the water so the line wouldn't get caught on the boat bottom or the prop. We safely neted it and hauled it in. A nice fat 10 to 12 pound fish.

Good afternoon
Two customers today, really simple stuff as I'm not ready for the difficult things yet. A few trips up and down the shop steps so I'm a little tired but it's income and needed.
We(I) need a few things from the grocery store so I think I have DaWife talked into a field trip.
Pine Island 89F.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been trying to figure out who's been putting yard waste (twigs, leaves, etc.) into the newspaper box under my mailbox. I've just been pulling the mess out. Thursday my across-the-street neighbor informed me it was birds - Martins, to be exact. So I called the paper to ask that my delivery person drop the paper on the lawn instead of putting it in the box. We'll see if the birds come back or not.

I made a mid-morning run to Culver's for a couple of pot roast sammiches, one of which I scarfed down already. The other will prolly be supper along with the sides of steamed broccoli and coleslaw, plus horsey sauce, iced tea and their wunnerful root beer. It's good to be the king!
Clouds just got dark, and no sooner did I run out to the driveway to close the sunroof on the motorcar but the skies opened up. Timing!
