ROAD TRIP!!!
Headed out in a bit on a semi-epic roadie. Today we'll do the 13 hour (with stops) grind to Wichita KS.Visit sisters and others there and then to Wilmore (pop 53) to convene at the family farm. A cookout at the Unruh's that evening with folks there in Greensburg. Church Sunday with the Mennonites. Then on to stay with friends in beautiful Grand Lake CO in their amazing custom log home that Bruce built himself. Then a leisurely trip to Santa Fe, maybe Roswell (family history there), and across Texas (stop and visit Wendy's oldest brother there) and back home.
Love y'all.
I'll try to remember to render a useful report on coffee and bathrooms.

Evan, you may not see this for days and days if you're already on the road, but I was going to suggest that you make sure to play some Ernest Tubb recordings in the car while you're waltzing across Texas.
Overcast and hazy in New York this morning. Expecting temperatures in the mid-70s. That's Fahrenheit. Clocking in to WFH in about 40 minutes; the silver lining of this situation still seems to be the luxury of keeping a guitar on a stand beside my desk for those in-between editing moments. I have played more guitar in the last 9 weeks than I had played for the previous nine months.
Oh—sorry. I forgot this isn't really a guitar discussion forum anymore...
Wishing everyone as pleasant a day as possible. As Marshall might suggest: breathe.

When we dance together my world's in disguise it's a fairyland tale that come true And when you look at me with those stars in your eyes I could waltz across Texas with you Waltz across Texas with you in my arms waltz across Texas with you Like a storybook ending I'm lost in your charms And I could waltz across Texas with you
At a guitar camp I put together a band for the Friday night dance and we did this tune. It is a fave, but I'll never get the gravel in my voice like his.
Have a great trip and be safe.

At one of our shows prior to recording the CD, as I was about to begin playing the instrumental break of the song, Lar turned to me and said, “Ah, waltz me across Texas Darlin.” A woman in the audience told me later she thought that was ‘SO ROMANTIC.” LOL! When it came time to record the CD, I asked Larry to say that on the recording. One Saturday morning I heard him in his studio saying that over and over into the recording machine. LOL! It was worth the effort. I LOVE that he put that into the recording of that beautiful song.

Allergy season has hit here. It starts in early spring with tree pollens, but that doesn’t bother me, Nope, it’s grass pollens that cause sneezing, itching, red eyes, and generalized misery. so I start the day with a dose of Claritin, followed by some snorts of Flonase, followed by some chlor-trimeton The last one works good, but it also makes me sleepy. So I get the choice of misery, or being wiped out. It should all end around the Fourth of July when the grass stops growing.
All to explain this mornings Costco run, as I am out of Flonase. And we could use another case of beer. It will hit 80 here today.

Asparagus harvest in full swing. The early crop came in last week and now the main crop producing. I plant batches in different "micro-climates" which spreads out the harvest by three weeks. Once I get a patch established in Grand Forks, I will be able to have a four-week harvest.

Good morning. Safe travels, Evan.
A heat wave is setting in that will cook us through the weekend. It's all over the southwest. I'm about to take a walk while the morning is still cool. Later I'll smoke a ham. Have a good day.

Good morning.
Foggy and cool here. I don't see Summer in the 10-day forecast.
Got a blade belt for the mower yesterday but didn't feel like messing with it. Guess I'll put it on today. Gut a lot of free time lately. Got no ambition though.
Safe Wednesday.

Good morning Tornado sirens went off yesterday evening, it passed to the south of us, no damage that I know of. I'll working in my shop today. Hopefully the headstock overlay for the H182 Sovereign will arrive today and I can get on with that. I only have a few more in the archive closet to rebuild. I'll have to go dumpster diving for more. Pine Island 87F.

Just a little travel tip gem... if you hit North Dakota in late June you can catch the first cultivation of the sugarbeet crop! Quite the experience and something you'll never forget!

Just back from my gnatty, 3 mile hike. I forgot to put on, or carry, Bug Soother, so it was a buggy hike. I'll remember next time. They are grading the trail this morning so I'll probably switch from hiking to biking next week.
