From CNN (but available elsewhere) Somehow, I think George's best days ended some days ago. Just when I think Trump can't be more despicable, he is. I know the reaction this post will draw from certain quarters of the SoundHole, so I just want to offer a preemptive "Fuck you!" If you can't see the fault in this man you are hopeless. I wish saying this made me feel better. It doesn't. Not much is likely to soon.

"Just when I think Trump can't be more despicable, he is."
Something I've said to my wife on several occasions.

Trump's communication skills are the worst of any American politician in history -- at least from the standpoint of clarity and delivery. But even if he hadn't made the comment so awkwardly, the response is more an indication of Trump's true sin in this manner: That is, Republicans are not allowed to appropriate anyone the left is currently using as a hero. Even if the comment is meant to unite.

Taking something that in no way is his to take, in this case a memory, and twisting it to his own purpose. By what right does he purport to speak for George Floyd? Does he know anything about Floyd? Has he spoken to the Floyd family? He has a history of doing this, of course. Recently he began abusing the memory of Lori Klausutis so that he could slander his enemy Joe Scarborough, even after Lori's widower begged him to stop and tried to get social media to block those posts. No, the comment wasn't meant to unite. It was meant to pander.

Even if the comment is meant to unite. Trump's real crime in this instance, is being taken wildly out of context by media morons. As hard as the idiots want to spin it, Trump's comments were entirely in relation to the protests and renewed discussion of race relations in this country. Not about the economy as CNN and numerous other outlets reported. I mean, it's on tape for chrissakes. Hard to miss unless you're brain damaged. And whether you think Trump's command of the English language is up to your obviously heady standards or not, it was actually quite appropriate. That's the trick with Trump. If you think it's one way, wait a week or two. You'll find these people are astonishingly stupid.

2021 should be an interesting year for new books as his "loyalists" start speaking the truth.

2021 should be an interesting year for new books as his "loyalists" start speaking the truth. I think the people who now support Trump are just the smart ones who figured out that in spite of what they're told daily everything Trump has done has been the right thing to do. Despite not being a Trump supporter in 2016, because I assumed him to be a Democrat in Republican costume, since he was mostly a life long New York Democrat, it turned out that he did the stuff I thought should be done. He had said he would but I didn't think he meant it but apparently he did mean it. Biden is a loser being pulled to his left so far he'll never be able to turn right again. I plan to vote Trump this time. He's the best bet for me.

If you still think ---
---after watching the Democrats justify the riots and call white people racists, and miscalculate the COVID-19 virus -- calling people who want to work "grandmother killers", all the while not just defending but advancing the philosophy of socialism---
---- that people who vote for Trump are "loyalists" to Trump, then you're really not grasping the real dynamic.

John, I say this with respect, pull your head out of that very dark hole it's in. Protest, justified. Rioting, not. That over generalization isn't even of a significant minority of Democrats. Not saying none, but the vast majority of sane Democrats do not justify rioting and destruction of property like that.

I see a lot of despicable. I could comment endlessly on what I think is despicable about high profile Democrats, Obama's FBI, State Department, Intelligence agencies, & Atty Generals (and by their actions on his behalf or his instructions, him personally). I could comment almost daily on what I see as despicable behavior by WaPo, NYT, CNN, & MSNBC.
I forebear because I have met and sincerely have affection for many of you who don't share my views about what is despicable.
I personally don't care for it when I see someone positing their opinions and then ascribing to themselves or their tribe a moral superiority because of that opinion. Or conversely painting the "others" as having something wrong with them because they don't hate Trump as much as they should (or do hate DJT).
I'm not saying Rob did that... well not far from it... but no biggie. I think several of you have been propagandized by the rogue's gallery listed above. That's my opinion but I don't think it makes me a bad person or imputes to me one smidgen of virtue. It's just an opinion.
I see a lot more things to despise that the stupid shit he says almost daily. But that's just me.
