Good morning
Up early because I went to bed early and got a decent nights sleep.
Might even get down to the shop early and get some work done, income. Refilled all my meds yesterday, just under $300 and that did not include insulin. The up side is some of the meds are on their last refill meaning the Doc doesn't think I need them after this batch is gone. I hope so, I take a LOT of pills.

Coffee. Brownies. Taking the daughter unit to get pier blocks for her new deck. Ordering the new barbecue, which now back ordered 3-4 weeks because of demand. Sheesh. Don’t they know I’m used to instant gratification?

Good morning.
Apparently Summer's over we were back at 60 degrees this morning. I think we warm again later in the week. It's probably my fault for opening the pool. Yesterday we had a turtle take a swim in the pool. When I first saw it I thought it was a big leaf but leaves don't generally swim and it turned out to be about a 4" little box turtle. I was going to take a picture of it before taking it out of the pool but of course the battery in the camera was dead so I let the turtle loose. I couldn't find the battery charger which usually lives on my desk next to the camera. I looked everywhere and finally found it in the suitcase Mary took to the quilt show back in February so I guess I wasn't keeping up with my responsibilities for awhile. I'm blaming 2020 for distracting me.
The pool's pretty clean this morning so maybe I'm winning the sand fight. Thinking I'm winning is usually a mistake.
Apparently the local protests went off uneventful. Have a safe Monday.

Looking at a hot damp three days. That’ll make for less guilt for being in the shop.
Had to get a new trim mower and took a hard look at the electrics But wound up with a little Toro with a Honda engine. It has a big heart when the going gets tough.

The beaver battle continues. So far it's beaver 4, Darryl 0. But I'm back at the cabin with a bunch of woven wire fence that will end up being wrapped around trees. Hope they'll decide to go elsewhere. I talked to a fried of mine who has a cabin about 2 miles up the lake and he said the beavers have been there too.

Ken, that does suck, but let's hope that Thursday is the day you start getting better.
This morning is pleasantly cool. I went to a city park where there's a community garden. About a gazillion sunflowers are blooming. That draws various birds, including our naturalized lovebirds. I took a lot of photos and returned feeling better about the world.
Have a good day.

The upside is some of the meds are on their last refill meaning the Doc doesn't think I need them after this batch is gone. I hope so, I take a LOT of pills.' Check with your Doc before assuming that. There are meds that are not insulin that really make a difference. The long story is that blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar abnormalities all multiply the ill effects of the other. So negotiate with your Doc about what you do and don't need. Don't let him forget you or you him. What do they say in the movies? 'It's complicated.'

I've been relieved of any of the prep work for the annual chicken slaughter my nephew's family is having tomorrow, so my day is filled with the usual. Sunny and moderate.
Better days y'all

Yesterday was in the mid-90s. Very hot for us. And, as would be expected, late afternoon and evening thunderstorms erupted across the region. We ended up getting a lot of thunder and a soft, beautiful, half-inch rain that was just perfect (as it followed a half-inch rain we got the day before. Some places up along the border got hammered.
Today is a repeat. On our way to the mid-90s with another batch of storms expected to develop late afternoon and into the evening.
Then by Tuesday, temps expected to drop back to the low 70's. I will be waiting.
Up to the farm in a bit to harvest more asparagus. Might be the last. Might not be.

Home from a weekend at the beach celebrating 39 years of marriage - yes, she is a very patient woman. A telephonic hearing in about 5 minutes, then off to the races with phone calls and letter writing.
Have a wonderful Monday!

So Alanc, Ken, etc (Evan is traveling) I'm assuming Cristobal didn't have a huge impact, from any of you down there or the news.
We're supposed to get like 4 inches of rain tomorrow as it heads north. Yuck.

David, congratulations on thirty-nine years. How she tolerated a lawyer's life for so long I can't imagine.
