Sometime next year, if all goes well, Brett Holm of Chaska, Minn., will begin selling his Season Shot, an improvement over current shotgun shells because its pellets dissolve on contact in the game meat and, more important, automatically flavor it for cooking. Holm told the Chanhassen Villager newspaper in August that he will initially offer lemon pepper, mesquite, Mexican and Creole flavors, but, he said, chemists are at work right now to expand the selection.

Picking shot out is a pain. Biting down on a pellet can bust a tooth. So even if it wasn't flavored, dissolving shot would be a good idea. Cajun savor is just a bonus.

I hope they make it with different seasoning for different birds. Bald eagle needs more garlic than canaries do, etc.

I'm with TDR on this big time.
Having been a bird dog trainer for 17 yrs I've picked a bunch of shot from birds, and bit down on a bunch I missed. Built special tools for getting the shot out etc. Disolving shot is a good thing.
