Had planned to do an early morning bike ride, then I got out of bed and realized maybe crawling around on the deck all day yesterday was enough exercise for 2 or 3 or 4 days. More coffee please.

No rain today,,,yet. Contractor has started site prep, tantalizing with the prospect of a house in the near future.
Better days y'all

Good morning. I'm back from a sunrise hike in the mountain preserve. Several chores are planned but I may do a Paleo and put them off. Have a good day.

Good morning
Almost got a full day in the shop yesterday but that's not going to happen today as I'll need a nap pretty soon.
Have a good day.

Well, it’s been such a great month. Going to get fitted for ankle brace today, so I can dump the walking boot. Foot’s a bit sore, but progressing. Will hopefully get a couple of the hurricane machines out of the house today, as they go to another method to try and dry out the hardwood. Still saturated in spots. Strata is complaining about the quote to fix. I don’t think they have a whole lot of choice in how the insurance works, but I don’t feel like getting into a bunfight with them. We have decided on porcelain tile; flooring contractor said cork is still susceptible to grease and stains, and a good hard porcelain tile, (they come in grades,) works best.
Trying to stay up through all this. Being housebound with the pandemic and a broken bone meaning can’t even get out for a walk sucks. Got lots of writing and guitar playing done.

Picked up a new coupler for the grease gun as the old one was getting a little leaky. Gave it a trial run yesterday on the mower. Fit it to the spindle zerk, perfect fit. Gave it four shots of grease, no leak. Tried remove the coupler from the zerk, no go. I could not get it off the zerk. Twist-pulled, side-pulled, tried visegrip. Finally used a screwdriver and out it came... the whole damn zerk. Out of the fitting, still attached to the gun. Crap.
Now immersing myself in the fascinating world of self-tapping grease zerks and adjustable and locking couplers. (of course, the access to this fitting is tight so I might have to pull the pulley. Double crap!)

Good luck with getting fitted with the brace. I hope your spirits lift a bit too. This pandemic isolation has been tough.

Ken, you don't have to work so hard--modern, open-pit meme mining operations have increased supply so dramatically that the old search-and-dig approach is obsolete. And, of course, import of off-shore materiel also adds to the stream, but much of that product comes from child-labor shops and doesn't wear well.

Good luck epaul. Been there. I probably would have heated it up with a blowtorch and set the mower on fire.
I remember in my many summers working on golf course maintenance crews a number of misadventures with zerks. You didn’t really have the respect of the old guys until you knew where the hidden ones were on every machine.

Until I googled it, I would have thought zerk was a made-up term, like a whatsit or a thingamagig. Or Maki Boy.

That makes me sad right there. Get your guitar out, Bruce. Play some blues. The sun’s gonna shine in your back door someday.

I just found a different fruit. Carambola, also known as star fruit, is the fruit of Averrhoa carambola, a species of tree native to tropical Southeast Asia. The fruit is commonly consumed throughout Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, Micronesia, parts of East Asia, and the Caribbean. The tree is cultivated throughout tropical areas of the world. A golden-yellow juicy fruit with a star-shaped cross section. 'But flavor isn't the best feature, as carambolas are rich in vitamin C, potassium and fiber.' 'The carambola, or five-finger fruit, has a mild but sweet taste, and a thinnish skin.

After registering unusually high temperatures across the globe, May 2020 tied with 2016 as the world's warmest May on record, according to scientists at NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information.4 days ago
I got my May electric bill today, which lists the temperature average for the month. We averaged 8 degrees below average. That's great for the bill but sucked otherwise.
