I put up another 55-60 feet of woven fire fence yesterday to try to stop, or move, the beavers. I'll go check after coffee to see if I lost any trees last night.

Good morning.
It'll be another rainy dreary day here and I could make a full time job out of taking leaves out of the pool but I won't.
Have a safe Wednesday.

Today my kid sister, Eva, would have turned 65. Hard to believe. She has been gone near 43 years.
In this 1970 photograph, she sits between her older brother, left, and a dear family friend who has been my brother since 1967, right, in Wellfleet, MA. I think the de-focused quality of this image is appropriate.

That is a very poignant photograph. My hope is that love does not die and someday, somehow, a reunion will take place.

You got a Jackson Browne vibe going on there, pal! R.I.P., Eva.

My hope is that love does not die and someday, somehow, a reunion will take place. That is my hope and what I pray for everyday...sometimes all day long.

Those photos plus the bicycle video has my brain turned inside out. Heading outside to give it some sun, another sunny day in the 70s.
Cheers

Taking mom to have her haircut at a new stylist, her old one used the huddle in place as a good reason to retire. Hoping the current clouds are only marine effect and I'll be able to catch up a little on the mowing.
Better days y'all

My friend's four year old has been learning Spanish during lockdown. Trouble is he still can't say "please", which I think is poor for four.

... ...what makes those Soundhole ribs? ... Initial recipe came from here (amanajoe?) (and it's in the library--ribs done first in a pressure cooker, then baked with the bbq sauce. As with everything, it got adapted a little, but the end result impresses anyone who tries them. My variation is (1) more water in the pressure cooker (and no rack), (2) just water and no bbq sauce in there, (3) then dipped in the sauce and into the baking pan with any extra spread over top. I use a variation of neely's bbq sauce (easily googled)--halve that, simmer it always covered or it spatters all over, and skip the onion powder and grate and add one real onion. (I've also converted everything for this sauce to weights, so no messing with various cups and spoons) The water from the pressure cooker is superb pork stock (soup). Into the reefer for a day or two, pull the fat off the top, and the liquid is gelatinous until reheated. There's usually an extra rib or two that won't fit the pan, so that meat gets shredded into the stock.
