I'm getting the hang of these virtual open mics. Nice sub for the real thing. Saw a virtual performance from home by Carl Jones and his honey, Erynn Marshall. They are so cute and talented. It was the closest to seeing them live I've experienced. Very pleasurable. Carl is the most subtle and talented old timey singer and player.

Good morning, last day of Spring or first of Summer depending on what you call a day. Summer starts at about 5:45pm here.
Anyway, it's Saturday. I mowed the whole place yesterday and then went for a short cold swim in the pool. I'm still waiting for warm.
I've had my old, heavy, amplifier up for sale on Facebook for a few months. Only had one offer and it was low-ball but I caved yesterday and had the guy come get it. I had my ES-165 hooked up to it so he could hear that it works and I let him play. Although he brought a fairly new ES-335 and loves his ES-335, he said his wife was going to be mad because now he "Needs" an ES-165. I tried his 335 a little but I had forgotten how heavy those are. I think Les Pauls are heavier but even the 335 outweighs a real hollow archtop. Guess I'm too old for solid body or even semi-solid guitars.
Have a safe Saturday.

Make the guy in the railing drink it before you help him out.

Nice video. It's a studio audio recording with a lip sync video in the prairie somewhere.

Getting some rain today which means a break from mowing. I'm sure there's something else I need to do.
Better days y'all

Good morning
Had a decent nights sleep. Let's see how long I can work in the shop today. I have plenty of work to do but the problem is getting it done.
Dennis, you need a frivolous hobby.

Good morning. I had a pleasant walk, then I took some very close-up photos of blooming zinnias. Then I relocated some edging I'd installed a week or so back because I changed my mind about the placement. It'll be another quiet day. Enjoy yours.

First trip to the barber yesterday since the pandemic started. Felt good. I like the cuts from my wife better than any of the pros around here. She's good conversation and soft when she leans against me. Perfect.

Carl used to sing with Beverly Smith. He drove her to distraction with his rambling cranked up banter and humor. But boy could they sing together.

A pleasant walk this morning, except for when I looked at the burning mountains. Another quiet day at home. Lox and bagels being constructed as I type. Laundry in the dryer. Making turkey/asparagus crepes tonight. I will need to get the batter made so it can chill. Normal is as normal does.

Nice video. It's a studio audio recording with a lip sync video in the prairie somewhere. Marshall BUZZKILL! I don't mean that in a negative way. It's a fine video. I'm sure they can play it straight thru under any circumstance. It's a nice way to do a good video. Music is not solely auditory any more. Blame MTV. And whatever it takes to get a good product out there is OK by me. PS - I do some home-made videos myself in my kitchen. They are live. Afterwards I edit the audio and the video a little. It usually takes several (5?, 6?, 10?) takes to get a clean bobble free take. And many times I'd like to redo an audio passage, but it's too complicated for my simple setup. I'm always watching to see how everybody is doing these things. Nothing negative meant by any of my comments. Just trying to understand how people are doing things. It's all good.

Nice video. It's a studio audio recording with a lip sync video in the prairie somewhere. I don’t know. It looks to me like it was filmed “green screen” in the studio and the prairie was added post production. That’s way easier and cheaper than hauling everything out to the country and trying to accurately lip synch a recording just for YouTube. They could have managed the green screen thing entirely by themselves using a Mac or PC.

No, no, no.
Different camera angles. At least 3. One close up with the background out of focus. (Narrow depth of field). One mid focus. One long focus (background clearer).
It's a fine song and a professional video. Nothing to complain about. Not from me anyway. I just like to figure out how good people are doing good things.
. . . , OK. Maybe there is a green screen thing going on. But it's very sophisticated. The multiple camera angles belie one take. And the facial lighting is off for the background outdoor shot. But the audio is recorded separate from the video shot(s). That's not a bad thing. It's just a thing.
Whatever it takes to get a good product out there the public can appreciate.

I slowed the video down and then ran it through one of Gus' gaming program testers, and it turns out not only is the background fake, the singers aren't even human. The whole thing was done by robots with a computer. A little spooky if you ask me.
