My wife's father passed away yesterday. He was surrounded by family, including his parents, in his last day and got to celebrate Father's Day with both his children and his own father.

So sorry, John. Condolences to you and your wife and her family.

Good morning, all. I went hiking in the mountain preserve a little before sunrise and watched the world light up. There are worse ways to start a day. Enjoy yours.

Good morning.
My sympathies to the family, John.
We'll get to around 90 today but the pool's clean and it felt good yesterday.
Guess it's been hotter up North than we were here. I'm still trying to take care of my late great-great-nephew's kids and their mother. Had a discussion with her last night and it's been too hot to sleep in their place in Maine so they've been moving around to friend's places. Her place doesn't have A/C and there aren't screens on the windows so she can't leave them open. I sent her money to get a window A/C. Maybe someone will miss me when I'm gone. She hasn't begged for anything but she's not getting any help from her family or my nephew's family. They all have their own problems. I know my brother would have taken care of them if he was still here. Mary gets a little pissed when I do that but I remember "Loaning" her little brother money for some dental work 30-odd years ago that I never got back. It's family. You have to help when you can, right?
I'm really sorry to hear the sad news, John. Pass along my condolences to Erin please.

I'm back at the cabin, in my continuing battle with the beavers. I brought another 75 feet of woven wire and the necessary steel posts, to put it up. A quick survey of the area this morning didn't turn up any new damage in the last 5 days. Maybe I can win this battle, maybe!
