L.L. Bean or Eddie Bauer? And where are their Topsiders?

Not Land's End. I've been trying to get a good pink Polo from them for years.

I've been binge watching 24 for a month or more now (I'm up to season 5). I'm thinking of getting myself one of those merses that Jack Bauer carries around. Somehow he fits every weapon short of a Sherman tank in that thing, and can still sling it over his shoulder. He saves the world every season and still has time to stay current on the latest software developments.
I'm betting he's got something in that merse that could refinish my doors for me.

I have a friend who makes stuff out of buffalo hides. I did not see any merses per se, but did find an expedition bag. buffalobillfoldcompany.com/shop/leather-expedition-bag/Frankly, any of the "purse" made out of buffalo probably passes as a merse without any question. Bill also journeys around the country to art fairs. He also plays guitar. He also has a blog (not as cool as yours). He also has been making a living with his hands for more than 40 years. He is also a smart guy. I think baseballs made by Bill would be slightly more gameworthy than baseballs made by you. I have a guitar strap made by him - he hasn't raised his price on those in 20 years.

L.L. Bean or Eddie Bauer? And where are their Topsiders? Poor choices for home defense. His AR rifle is a bit much and likely to put rounds through walls or doors putting his neighbors in danger. Her little semi-auto is more of a danger to him or her than a invader, semi-autos tend to go off easily and un-expectantly when under stress. Better they both get .410 shotguns. Less lethal, point and shoot, nasty little buggers that are safer for them and safer for their neighbors.

His AR likely won't put any holes in his own thick Italian marble walls, and I doubt he worries too much about his neighbors.

The Boing Boing post called her pistol a "Saturday night special," but a gun-savvy commentor identified it as a Walther PP model, "the Mercedes of handguns." But apparently she's still holding it wrong--and in some pictures, she clearly has her finger on the trigger. What, as Bugs often says, a maroon.

I know next to nothing about guns - let's get that out of the way. I will comment anyway. I look at the way she is holding her gun and think, "Oh crap - someone's going to get accidentally shot." Maybe that's a perfect illustration of how to defend one's self (as I said, I don't know much) but that just doesn't look safe for anyone involved.

They don’t seem to actually know how to properly hold their guns. They are using the TV/movie grip instead of the “I know what I am doing” grip. Barefoot, pink shirt, and Dockers. Both are lawyers. You’d think they could hire somebody to hold their guns for them. Bernice and Claude instead of Bonnie & Clyde.

L.L. Bean or Eddie Bauer? And where are their Topsiders? If they want to defend their home, why are they standing in front of the public library?

You all will be hearing more about that couple, believe me. The memes alone are epic. Backstory: the couple owns a law firm (and, clearly, a mansion, and probably a yacht, like Elmer J Fudd...). Some “protesters” broke through a locked iron gate to access the surrounding private property, allegedly chanting “eat the rich.” Which is, admittedly sort of funny. Unless you’re the rich. But I digress. They strapped up to confront the crowd. I would personally not do that, myself, but I’m also the sort of guy who will hide behind the curtains and pretend not to be home when people knock, like guitarist JulianBream used to do. This could have gone very badly for all—especially since the crowd had broken into private property, but nobody got shot, thankfully. As to guns, initial reports did say that the wife was Armed with James Bond’s PPK, but it’s actually a total piece of crap pot metal “ring of fire” type .380–Lorcin, Raven, Jiminez. (You can google it; no relation to Johnny Cash). If her gun was a guitar, Esteban would be selling it on late night infomercials. Given her digs, her choice of gat makes me doubt her sanity, but again, I digress. A side point on the AR-15: it might seem to fly in the face of conventional wisdom, but the safest round—in terms of punching through building materials on the way to the neighbor’s baby crib, or the nunnery down the street—that is still a viable round for personal defense is.... wait for it... the commercial .223/5.56 loads designed for urban use in AR-15s. I shit you not. Next post will contain memes, to lighten the mood. The gateway to “peaceful protesting:”
