Good morning. Got some breakfast and caffeine in me, think my engine will turn over now. Saturday shop and I have a few people coming in. Then I think DaWife has planned another shopping trip. Her right shoulder is still giving her hell so she needs someone to push the cart and if she takes a granddaughter they want to buy only junk food and are no help at getting a weeks worth of meals. Bill, I'll see if Big Steer is open and if so I'll check it out. I just got back from there, Marty -- the place is great! Spend a lot of time looking around, as they have an amazing selection of stuff for such a compact space. TONS of bratwurst variants; I bought Polish sausage in honor of CQ's gig triumph last night! CQ?? Did you mean CG?

Michael M--I downloaded my digital copy of Acoustic Guitar last night and noticed three things: that it's an almost-all-reprint issue (the excuse being a 30th anniversary issue); that they didn't reprint anything of mine; and that they did reprint one of yours, "Is One Guitar Enough?" from 2007. So our stints writing for them did overlap a bit--I think my last piece appeared in 2009, a profile of the Phoenix Guitar Company.
I hope they paid for the reprint.

"Gonna finish this cuppa Joe and go hike 8 miles up a mountain. Afterwards.......well........I’ll probably be to f*****g tired to do much else." I've been planning hikes for the vacation we start tomorrow. None will involve eight miles. I could probably do it--did a six-miler not too long ago--but it doesn't sound like fun at this point in my decrepitude. Well somehow I turned my GPS thingy off 3/4 of the way through, but looks like we made it about 8 1/2 miles. Possibly 9. Did find a monster huckleberry patch up high that was prime.

What GPS thingy do you use? I’ve been using a paid iPhone ap called GPS Tracks and like it a lot. I’ve also been experimenting with one that is geared more to hunters called OnX this ap gives you map overlays that show state and fed lands and who legally owns private property parcels in your area. Kinda spendy maybe for what is is.

Thanks for the GPS info, Steve. I didn't know whether you had a dedicated device or a phone.
BLTs tonight, featuring tomatoes from the back yard. They were still kind of orange on the outside, but perfectly ripe inside. I guess I need to adjust what I think is ripe by visual inspection. I also got the wrong bacon - there wasn't much on the shelves at Kroger, and I got "regular" instead of center cut. But it still turned out OK.
