Good morning, Friends.
It has been a long time since I had the honor of rolling out the daily!
Definitely The Ides of July here in my little corner of the world! In addition to the sadness and stress of all that surrounds my daughter’s divorce, yesterday came news that a good friend has esophageal cancer. 😢. We are not strangers to that demon here in the SH. Then last night on the weekend eve of my husband’s passing (hard to believe it has been 5 years) a neighbor dropped over in his yard and died last night as he was watering his flowers. Like with my husband, no warning. We are waiting for more news.
Looking for the light though, my attention will be turned to loving up my daughter and my grand nuggets today. My daughter always spends this weekend at the lake in memory of her dad. ❤️ This year they will spend the night so it will be Popsicles and boogie boards today, snuggles and popcorn tonight and whipping up some wicked pancakes with Kim in the morning!
Have a wonderful day, Everyone. ❤️

Thinking of you Resolve.
Even though the guy that wrote it was a little wacky the refrain in Nature Boy rings so true in tough times.
The greatest thing you'll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return

Got in six on the trails this morning. I beat all the bikes to the trails (got there by six thirty ayem in the morning), but by the time I finished, there were prolly two dozen bikes out there with me. I'm not getting faster, but I'm going longer and getting stronger.
I've tidied up my arrangement of "Just the Way You Look Tonight" and it's just about ready for prime time now. I think the Gibson's got a loose brace again and high E buzzes at the 6 and 7 fret. It's getting a coupla hours of play most days anyway.

I am playing at a "Beer and Pickle" party tonight. Only in Milwaukee......
Lar and I played it two years ago. We couldn't do it last year because we had already booked another gig. It is a private party. The hostess throws this party every year in honor of her deceased father. The family continues to celebrate his birthday each year. Mom is still living and just loves that the family continues to do this.
The hostess came out to hear us at the beer garden last night. She told me she had heard that Lar died and wondered if I was still playing until she saw my promo on FACEBOOK. She said she hadn't hired anyone to play the party and would I like/be able to help her out. Of course!!!
So another night of fun polka music for me. That's a good thing.

Good morning.
So far all the forecast rain has missed us and it looks to do the same today.
Did my Saturday chores but Mary wants to go search Ace Hardware for something she wants and I need some weed killer anyway so we'll go sometime later.
Have a safe Saturday.

A joke.
A man is strolling through the farmers market. As he wanders among the tomatoes and peppers, this really sketchy looking guy whispers at him "Hey buddy! Come over here. You gotta check this out!"
So he goes over behind the beat up, windowless van the guy was driving. "So, what do you have?"
"Check it out, man. I've got this robot right here that knows if you're lying."
"No way", he replies. "Don't believe it!"
"Don't have to take my word for it", the guy replies. "Just try telling a lie and see what happens."
"Ok, fine", the man responds. "I can bench press 400 pounds."
And the robot gives him a slap. Not hard. Not violent. But enough to know you got slapped.
"How stupid do you think I am", the man answers. "That thing would slap me no matter what I said."
"Try telling it the truth then", the guy replies.
"I've worked for Acme Anvil Company for 14 years".
Nothing.
"I drive a 2007 Toyota and it needs new tires".
Nothing.
"I bought Amazon stock back when it was a dollar and now I'm crazy rich."
Slap.
"Ok. Pretty cool. I'm convinced." the man says. "How much?"
"Hundred bucks", the guy tells him.
So the man buys the robot and takes hit home.
At dinner that night, he asks his son what he learned in school today.
"We learned about Archimedes Principle", his son replies.
Slap!
"Son, did you even go to school today?"
"Of course I did!"
Slap!
"All right! All right!", the son responds. "I went over to Billy Morgan's house and we spent the day playing Minecraft and smoking weed in his basement."
"You damned kids!" the man replies. "When I was your age we didn't even know what weed was!"
Slap!
"Ha, ha!" the man's wife says. "He's your son!"
Slap!

Cyndy, the fact that so many things bad things are going on in the world doesn't mean that bad things can't happen in our personal worlds. It just makes it all that much harder.
I don't have much on my plate today. Waffles may appear after our walk. Then taking Mr. H to Costco to finally get his hearing aids adjusted/reflashed. The hearing center was shut down for some time and we are both tired of him saying "what." I will leave him to deal with that while I shop for a long list of things. We were very successful at the grocery store yesterday, finding everything on that list. And all areas seemed fully stocked.

Morning. Gonna finish this cuppa Joe and go hike 8 miles up a mountain. Afterwards.......well........I’ll probably be too tired to do much else.

"Gonna finish this cuppa Joe and go hike 8 miles up a mountain. Afterwards.......well........I’ll probably be to f*****g tired to do much else."
I've been planning hikes for the vacation we start tomorrow. None will involve eight miles. I could probably do it--did a six-miler not too long ago--but it doesn't sound like fun at this point in my decrepitude.

Good morning. Got some breakfast and caffeine in me, think my engine will turn over now. Saturday shop and I have a few people coming in. Then I think DaWife has planned another shopping trip. Her right shoulder is still giving her hell so she needs someone to push the cart and if she takes a granddaughter they want to buy only junk food and are no help at getting a weeks worth of meals. Bill, I'll see if Big Steer is open and if so I'll check it out. Cyndy, I knows a guy who knows a guy that knows a guy who can take care of your SIL problem, if you knows what I mean. Have a good day all.

Good morning barely....
Realizing How Connected We Are As we realize how truly connected we are to others, our loneliness recedes, we feel lighter and more resilient, and we move forward in our lives with a greater appreciation for our shared humanity.
Next afternoon evening and nighttime
Still thinking about the flick ... Billy Elliot And hoping we’re not have masks soon
Thanks & enjoy

Spend a lot of time looking around, as they have an amazing selection of stuff for such a compact space. TONS of bratwurst variants; I bought Polish sausage in honor of CQ's gig triumph last night!
