Two days in a row. Getting up at the crack of 8:30 is paying off
-dateline Grand Forks, ND
Current temperature is 66 with an expected high of 81 and an evening low of 54. Clear and sunny with air quality rated as excellent.
Today I will be picking beans and tomatoes. Later I will go golfing. Then I will see if I can find my guitar as I have two gigs lined up for mid-August. It has been a while.

Nice day shaping up here as well. Golf went pretty well yesterday. It was a scramble so lots of fun. Everyone had a few good moments. We were two under for 18 which is not that great for a scramble but respectable for a foursome where the combined age is 300! Gold tees of course. The guy on the right was a career Air Force fighter pilot who still has hawk-like vision so we seldom lose a ball. I have played music with the guy on my left since 1978, and skied with the guy on my right for almost as long. It was great to be with them.

Good morning.
Difficult to type a post with a demanding cat in your lap. Simon just jumped in my lap and flipped on his back, belly rub please.
Yesterday didn't work out as planned so today I'll do things in reverse. Shop time, then errands but I do need to put chili ingredients in the slow cooker for tomorrow. Cook today, let set overnight in fridge and warm up for dinner. We all know that it's better the next day.

Good morning, it's a good morning, I'm in my happy place (my cabin) drinking coffee. I'll get some work done a little later.

Just finished breakfast, which was a link of Polish sausage, warmed up and wrapped with a slice of nine-grain bread, nothing fancy. Black coffee now as I continue to fix reporters' errors and write snappy headlines

Boil advisory starts today though Friday while the city does some work on the water system. I think we have all our meals planned out so we don't need to cook with water (there might be pizza involved on one of those nights). The hard part is not grabbing water from the fridge to drink.

I wonder why you're supposed to drink boiling water. That doesn't sound safe at all.

Remembering when this was a big deal, before Japan forced US auto manufacturing to up their game.
Our 2007 Honda this morning. Our 3 vehicles total 515,000 miles. Household human mileage just reads "high"
Paintbrush duty today now that the afternoon rains are subsiding.
Cheers

I have played music with the guy on my left since 1978, and skied with the guy on my right for almost as long. It was great to be with them. What a great time. Scrambles are the bees knees. Lots of camaraderie, and when your shot is the one that is used you feel like a real golfer as you forget the other 80+ shots that went astray. I remember one scramble where only two of my shots were used. One won the long drive contest. 304 yards dead center according to the fairway markers. The second was on the 18th hole for our group. A short par 3 for the closest to the hole. We get on the tee and look to the green and see the closest to the hole marker is about 10 feet out. The first three guys put one about 4 feet from the marker. I jokingly sneered, that's nothing, watch this. Then hit a seven iron 2 feet from the hole. Those were the only two shots that were halfway decent the whole day. Won me a putter and a driver.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.
Helping Yourself to Help Others It’s important to remember that until we straighten up our own lives, we probably won’t be that much help to anyone else.
I haven’t had breakfast so I better do it first.. Then I can help others

Back from the lava flow. I don't have asbestos boots but it has had 1,000 years to cool.

Morning is long gone and I have little to report. Did our walk. Dealt with a billing problem from our HOA's management company. Since I'm on the finance committee,I knew that they had new software. Apparently they haven't learned how to use it. Played some keyboard. Making progress on that. If the pandemic lasts long enough, I might get decent at it.
Last night's roast beef with carrots and taters was superb. Best beef I've had in a long time. A mere chuck roast, but from Costco. Somebody told us that their beef was excellent. Even though we are longtime members, we had never tried it except for steaks and hamburger. I'm done with buying tough and dry roasts at the grocery stores.

I guess one can't delete their own post? Yes, one can. Click on the little gear icon in the upper right corner of your post. "Delete post" should be an option.
