Looks like Bruce is right in the thick of it. Hope all's ok with him. Looks like a hurricane.

Up and awake in Flatlandia. It's very cool out here, which is good. Our house is 16 years old, and the air conditioner died yesterday. Right on time. It followed its friends the furnace and the water heater, both of which we've replaced in the past 15 months. Thank goodness "you can't take it with you."

Dug out my long sleeved flannel shirt this morning, hope the coffee warms me up. Off to get the title transferred on the motorcycle this morning.

Good day, I managed to get a decent shot of the comet last night with my Samsung flip phone, taken over a lake in Little Canada, not too far from my house. (either that or it's an image captured by one of the Strib's finest photographers, and taken at Wolf Lake, MN, about 70 miles east of Fargo, ND)

Good morning everyone. It'll be hot and dry here. The dry part may be due to the La Nina effect but whatever the cause, it's unwelcome. Fire danger should be a thing of the past by now and it's still high.
There's little to report. Keep on the sunny side.

I'll admit, you had me going there. Nah. Bill doesn't know how to operate the camera on his flip phone.

Understand that the camera on my old Samsung is a Polaroid -- you trip the shutter, it pushes out a 1" by 1.75" card, you wait six minutes, pull the backing off, and VIOLA! (One of my fave orchestral instruments, BTW.) The Samsung replaced an older, much larger cordless phone that produced only daguerreotype images.

I ran in a cool, light mist this morning. It's hard to believe it's August.

Wow Bill, that little flip phone rocks! That’s as good as if it were taken by a pro, with good glass and all! 🤔
The sun is coming up here, and a certain Dachschund is snoring. Think I’ll make savory waffles this am, taking a que from Eric Skye who posted about this on FB. Using a carton of the dried hash browns you can get at Costco, mixed into the waffle mix plus bacon and chives. Served with some scrambled eggs pretty tasty. That’s all the news from the north left corner of the country.

64 degrees here with misty rain. Of course, Misty Rain was a famous exotic dancer. August? Can’t be.

`Good morning
Don't think I have to go anywhere today, crossed fingers. So down to the shop to see if that bridge gluing jig worked as planed. I had one made of metal but for the life of me I can't find the damn thing. I will now since I took the time to make one, Murphy's Law.
Cool last night, I slept like a bear. Cool and sunny out there today.

Well, I said I'd let you know at 10am if I had Internet. The power went down about 6am and just came back on.
The winds are lessening now and we didn't get much rain but I've been listening to falling tree limbs all morning and between them and the stuff that blew into the pool I know what I'll be doing the rest of the week. A chainsaw will be involved with the fallen branch past of the cleanup. I don't see any while trees down but I haven't been out to really look around and I'll wait 'til the wind stops. I do have at least one piece of siding off the garage but that should be easy to put back up.
I don't know if we had any real hurricane force winds but it must have been close. The worst of it went west of us and is headed to New York now.
Have a safe Tuesday.

Sounds high-end to me. My phone is a tin can and a string. The shoebox taped to it is my pinhole camera.

There was a clear sky and full moon ar 4:15, but by 6:30 there is a black cloud over the island. Maybe I'll catch up on paper work.
Better days y'all
