Hey! How about some nostalgia for the geezers on the forum (which is most of us)?
Have good ones.

Good morning.
At least it's not Friday the 13th.
I have a neurologist appointment this afternoon about my sciatica. Might be a waste of time but I want to meet the new neurologist anyway in case I need him sometime.
Meanwhile, Mary has an on-line quilting class, Zoom meeting at 10 'til 1. I'll be amazed if it works but I'll shut my PC down so she'll have what little bandwidth we have. I suspect she'll be disappointed and since Trump isn't here it will be my fault.
Have a safe Thursday.

Power came back on at 7:20am this morning!
It has been a month since it went out (yes, three days without power feels like a month). Hoping that Dub and Fiddlerina got theirs back too!

Good morning. Another day in clinic.
Useless information of the day: Dan Fogelberg would have been 69 years old today.

A sliver of moon in the eastern sky, cool temps, should be a sunny warm day. State electrical inspector should be by today for the next step in actually getting into the house.
Better days y'all

It is garbage, recycling, and yard waste day.
There is enormous anxiety in our household which remains unresolved until the cans are all in their respective places at the end of the driveway well before the anticipated pickup time.
I’d best get to it.

Good morning. I was at the grocery store at 6:00 and have a Zoom breakfast meeting at 8:00. That's become the pandemic usual on Thursdays. Enjoy your day.

I have this new guitar in the house and it seems to be occupying inordinate amounts of my morning and evening time. The first day I had it, some time later in the evening, I made the mistake of putting a capo on the second fret which is -- to my hands -- like causing fingergasms. I had to take the capo back off for a while or I might never have quit playing.
My sis and her friend stopped by on their way to Michigan. She said, "That's in better shape than the Gibson, isn't it?" Astute observer, my sis.

Good morning
Trash day, the bin is already out there so no worries.
I pulled the truss rod on a Harmony 1260 yesterday. Not terribly difficult once you get it started but getting it started is the tricky bit. To do so one must get the bearing cap off first and in this case that was the difficult bit. Getting the bearing cap off was the devilish clever part but I'm not going into that here. Once that was done all I had to do was screw the rod from my pistol cleaning kit on to the threaded end of the T-rod, put a set of vice grips on the cleaning rod and tap out the truss rod by hitting the vice grips with a small hammer. Today I'll cut and re-thread the T-rod, put it back together with the bearing cap and shove it back in the neck. You can do that with older Rickenbacker guitars too. You guys are about do for a repair photo journal so I'll keep an eye out for something to do one on.

Four long days until trash pickup. Maybe I'll head cross town and watch it get picked up over on Belmont. Perhaps stop at McDonald's on my way over.

I got an early birthday present -- a gift card to Penguin Point. If anyone wants me to, I'd be glad to post photos of the tenderloin I get for lunch.

DSL is still down, so this is via dial-up. (Can you smell the kerosene?) ISP says it's not them or even CenturyLink but one of their service providers, so the exact problem is as opaque to our immediate provider as it is to us--so there's nobody to call and complain or threaten with quitting. The alternative would be Spectrum's cable-based internet, but I detest that company and will give them more money only in the direst of circumstances. Fortunately, C. can do her necessary work from campus.
Guess I'll be reading from my stack of books and magazines. I may even have to do the vacuuming.

Thirty some years ago Me Darling Wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told her I needed a small shop vac because the big one I had was too big to move easily. Well she got me a small one, the smallest I've ever seen. It says Shop Vac right on it but it's so small I don't know what most guys would do with it. But it turns out that I use that vac more than all my other shop vacs combined, I have 3 more in different sizes. That little vac is under my workbench and the hose on a holder over the back of the bench. Almost every day I use it to vacuum out a guitar or clean my bench. You'd be surprised how dirty old guitars get inside.

Elderly Instruments has a wall display called Tone Balls in the repair shop. Tone balls are the furry, balls of fluff found rolling around inside guitars they have repaired. One of the repairmen has a big, framed display of guitar picks found inside guitars.

I used to hear people say, if wishes were fishes, we’d all have a fry. Probably a Midwestern thing.
