I've got to go visit a customer down the road a bit tomorrow morning. Apparently the price of entry is a forehead temperature check before being allowed in.
Never been quite sure what that proves, but if they don't let me in I guess I spend 2 weeks at home. Or, well, actually not in the office.
Or, if they let me in I can confirm that I've kicked the viruses ass for 6 months.
Waiting on pins and needles.

That all seems a bit odd. I have to get a temp check to go into any medical office. But I have never heard of being sent home for 2 weeks simply because I might have a temperature. Heck, I have a temperature every time I walk on an incline for 30 seconds.

Having been to 2 medical appointments this week I've had my temperature checked twice and it was OK., My BP , pulse and O2-sat is OK and my weight is down enough pounds that I have a "Normal" BMI. Hell, for 72 that ain't bad. The neurologist said my spine doesn't look 72 and I don't look 72. I'll take it.

To further expound on MM’s post, the presence of a fever does not mean you have the virus. The absence of a fever does not mean you do not have the virus, or have not had the virus. If you have a fever, you might want to get tested for the virus. If you actually came up positive, after a real test for the virus, not a simple temperature check, you might want to think about staying away from everyone until you test negative.

No, it is one of the easy indicators that you MIGHT have the virus. I think that the theory is that they reduce the likelihood of bringing in infected people if they turn away those with this easily detected symptom, (they also will likely ask a few questions, like, "have you had a cough recently?" and "have you noticed a lack of your ability to smell?" [insert joke here].

Reminds me. Dr. Fauci recently addressed the Zoom-assembled Episcopal bishops about reopening churches. He was reportedly as close to caustic as Fauci ever comes when he was asked about the reported Russian vaccine. His confidence in its efficacy does not appear to be high.
The Episcopalians have adopted three statistical criteria for reopening even on a limited basis. No county in Arizona meets those criteria yet, I was told. Our bishop has said that her first priority in tending to her flock is not to get them killed.

This happened to me today. I walked across 200' of concrete parking lot in 100 degree weather. I flunked the temperature entry test for a public building. Then I sat in the air conditioned foyer for 2 minute and passed. |

I don’t understand why this is such a big deal to you, Aqua. It’s a simple screening, no one is going to send you home for two weeks. Get your temperature taken, answer the questions and move along. I’ve been doing that all summer driving a courier route for the local hospital, and the best thing to do is to be polite about it. It might not be much, but it is for your protection. Just like wearing a mask. And, just like wearing a mask, those seemingly silly protocols are also in place to protect the people around you. I assume you care about the people around you.
