What else can happen in this last third of 2020? Lake Charles area is an incredible mess. They quoted 8-12 weeks for Wendy's sister to get power. Unaccountably, they are staying in their hot hot hot house with no power AND no water.

58 degrees here. It feels great. After so many days of 95, the cool breeze is welcome. Have as good a day as you can.

Good morning. It's 78 and is expected to reach 98. That's a cool spell compared to what we've been having.
We'll have virtual church with my wife's bell piece. After dinner, older daughter will drop by for a distanced outdoor visit. All's well.

Got my run in early then started the burn pile. It takes a while for old particle board to burn, but it eventually does. 42 years of Dar's bookkeeping (<---if that doesn't blow your mind -- three double letters in a row -- your mind simply cannot be blown) up in smoke. The load to move is getting lighter each week.

A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas , walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."
The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona , the other is in Colorado . When we all left our home in Texas , we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself."
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss."
The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.
"Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."
"Hasn't affected my brothers though."

Good morning.
Bill missed lunch at Holman's Table Thursday so DaWife and I are meeting him for brunch there.
After that it's down to the shop to finish a few income projects as I need to top off my bank account to meet current bills.
Then I think I'm going to get conscripted into shopping like it or not.
My girl tries to keep me busy.

Le Tour this AM. Lots of crashes yesterday during a rainy circuit in Nice.
Two guitars back from finish. Need to get going on them.
Addendum: Doc, your favorite Alaphilippe won in a great finish!

32.6 miles of dirt, gravel, sand and grass this morning on the bike, plus I was unlucky enough to have a headwind the whole time.
More coffee please

It is nice outside, the best way to spend it is not inside.
Thinking of those people in Lake Charles. What a mess, and what a long road they've got.

Good morning. Bill missed lunch at Holman's Table Thursday so DaWife and I are meeting him for brunch there. Nice brunch, though we were seated indoors, but I could still view air ops from there. Afterward, I got to play #80, the all-mahog OM that Terry delivered on Thursday. What a beauty! And it sounds as good as it looks, a little brassier than I expected, but Marty says it will warm up as it opens up. The flying buttress carbon rods are way cool!

Got just a bit of rain last night, but the record setting hot weather seems to have broken. Hoping to get some real rain today.
Sunday brunch at home was a frittata concoction of leftover veggie pizza, leftover taco filling, eggs, cheddar cheese, onion, green chiles, and salsa. Don't know what to call it and don't expect to ever see it again, but it was good. Dinner tonight will be a salad.

Good afternoon..... enjoy your days. I watched THE CROWN in Netflix. Impressive - if you have British series - and the history 1930s, the architectural, the Daimlers, Jaguars, Bentleys, Vauxalls, and the castles - in the 2nd season I listened the WWW.ALLSTARGUITARNIGHT.COM - Muriel Anderson, Laurence Juber, De Grassi, etc. This is a Replay.
