All slide. Album is called “slide”, played lap steel style. Absolutely brilliant. I don’t think he’d played slide before, so this is a new thing? I’d imagine Chesapeake might know.

Slide is not the first—or second—thing I think off when contemplating Al’s playing. I wouldn’t have seen that one coming, but good for him for stretching his legs!

I've heard him play Celtic, blues, country and bluegrass, but never heard him work his wizadry with slide. Looking forward to hearing it.

Al was kind enough to give me permission to record my version of his wonderful "River" composition without any payment involved. Great man.

He played Travis thumbpicking tunes with me at Swannanoa, sitting on the wall at the top of the driveway waiting for the beer tent to open, in DADGAD. He was ruminating about doing an album from that perspective. A true talent. (As is Amy)
