I should have thought of promoting this here earlier--I'm not used to working outside our geographical area. Our Folk Society had to cancel the last segment of our 2019-20 concert series and then figure out how to carry on. We settled on sponsoring on-line concerts: we offer a guarantee to the artists, do our part as promoters, and the artists mount their performances via their platform of choice and operate their own tip-jar/contribution system. The Society doesn't take any of the proceeds--we're a non-profit and are spending grant money that is supposed to go for artist support. We're shooting for concerts every Thursday, 7:30-8:30. Tonight is our first one: Cliff Eberhardt. Here are his streaming addresses. I'll be relieved when this arrangement proves manageable and reasonably remunerative for the players. www.twitch.tv/cliffeberhardtwww.facebook.com/search/top?q=cliff%20eberhardtComing up: Rupert Wates (Brit transplant), 10/22; Mary Flower, 10/29; Josh Cleveland and the Cedar Street Band (local four-piece), 11/12; Nathan Neuman (CONCERTINA! old-time music), 11/19. Other acts are being pursued (Mark and Joy, I'm looking at you.)

Update/correction: Apparently it's the twitch.tv link that will have the actual concert--the Facebook page should point to it.
Still figuring out the twists and turns of this mode of presentation.

Nathan Neuman (CONCERTINA! old-time music), 11/19. Nathan Neuman is UNBELIEVEABLY talented. He is a wizard on the concertina as well as numerous other instruments. If that weren't enough...he is cute as a bug too! I heard him play at a polka convention. My fellow concertina players and I just stood in awe as we listened to him play.

Thanks for posting this, Russel. Maybe we should have a permanent thread where anyone can post links to streaming concerts for the benefit of all. Just musing...
