Atlanta luthier, Carlos Everett has made a lot of lovely instruments over the years. I have a nice mini jumbo. He is hanging up his tools soon. He has put up a video of one of his final instruments. He is understandably pleased with it. It's small and very lovely indeed. Video took a while to run properly for me.

Yeah. Nice, but not ringing my bell. It's a very small body. Like a Taylor GS-Mini. And for all the lovely materials and lovingly (but a little gaudy) details, . . . , it still sounds a lot like a GS-Mini.
I've tried a couple Everett guitars over the years. I think Madison Music had one once. Probably Gruhn Guitars too. But the couple I tried were very nice, but didn't make the top 5 in the stores. (I used to pilfer guitars in nice stores in towns I'd visit. I'd personally rank them. Then decide which one was best, . . . , and walk out of the door.) I was always respectful of the instruments and the store. Often I would share my impressions on guitar forums. More than once, somebody would email me and ask if I wasn't going to buy X or Y, they would. So there was some commerce that actually transpired for the shops. But my wallet was all, but rarely, untouched.
Sorry for the digression. I love the Everett logo.

I've lived with one for a long time now. Whilst it was a fairly long and uncertain courtship, It has gradually and quietly asserted itself to become my favourite. I do cheat on it from time to time though, especially with the Fylde.
