Foggy and hazy out there today. There may be storms rolling in later. We need rain so I am hoping for that. Stay your saucy selves.

It’s fookin raining!! I really don’t have anything concrete planned. Probably watch the open. Could be an exciting finale, lots of good players pretty close. Like family dynamics the history of Father’s Day is complicated and a bit mercenary. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father%27s_Day_(United_States)Thanks to Tricky Dick for making it government mandated.

A big swath of very welcome light rain across the entirety of eastern ND and the upper half of MN. Looks like a half-incher, but as it's all soaking in and the remainder of the day will be cool (upper 60's) and cloudy, I'm upgrading it's plant effectiveness rating to .8".

Good morning. I'm getting rain envy.
Took a walk while it was still pleasant. We have church at 10:00. Older daughter is coming over sometime this afternoon to thank me for begetting her. It'll be another good day for being indoors a lot.
Enjoy yours.

It was 86F when we started our walk around 7:00 AM and 3 degrees higher when we finished 45 minutes later. Will have omelets for breakfast. Although it is Father's Day, Mr. H is making them because he's very good at it. Church in person for the first time in over a year at 10:45. I didn't manage to get out of my pandemic rut last week to make it there. Shrimp scampi and champagne planned for dinner. Younger daughter sent Mr. H a very nice card and no doubt will call. Older daughter may remember the day in some way.

Cool, gray and damp here but no significant rain yet, though we are counting on it sometime today. Everyone's lawn has gone into hibernation in the past week and beyond. Today's French Grand prix had an exciting finish -- I was up fairly early to watch that, and I'm looking forward even more to viewing the Indycar race at Elkhart Lake, Wis., my favorite track anywhere. They should be able to just get that thing done before storms arrive, judging from radar. I picked up a breakfast sandwich from our local Keys Cafe this morning, and boy, was that place jumping with dads and their families, glad I phoned in my order. Terry mentioned the U.S. Open -- I was interested to learn yesterday that those Torrey pines exist only in that strip of land around Del Mar and on Santa Rosa Island offshore, which is a shame. Man, they are something:

Good morning.
Homemade muffins for breakfast. No Little Oven as my girls are taking me out to eat in a little while. We did do an early grocery shopping and now I get to have a nice sit down until roused by girls.
After shopping DaWife wants Caribou coffee since it's on the way home. I noticed a Sparkling Spicy Pineapple drink on the menu and gave it a try, not bad. The Spicy bit is ginger and it has a very nice ginger bite to it.

Dry nice start to the day. Breakfast with my favorite jalapeño cheese bagels wit lox, cream cheese and tomayter. Yum. A Father’s Day gift of eco safe no stick cook ware I’ve been eyeing over a year. Now have to toss the scratched stuff, wash the new and arrange it all.

If it were me, yesterday would have been the day I'd have been moving slow, real slow, barely moving at all.
Heading over to a friend's place for an annual solstice get together. We skipped last year and this will be the first time we've seen quite a few of these folks in a long while.
Finishing out Father's Day watching the Open on tape.
Happy Summer!
Cheers

This U.S. Open is unbelievable. The Road America Indycar race was terrific, too.

Helped the neighbors put a few hundred bales of hay in the barn yesterday. Moving slow this morning. Those small square bales, Steve? You get to a certain age and those things will wear a guy out. We finally got rain today. Here's what it looked like outside at 5:30 this morning. Red sky in the morning....
