All is well - sort of. The wife has a cold, so it was breakfast in bed for her. I also managed to re-fix the shower that the plumber fixed sorta' the other day. The repair involved pinching closed a section of flexible pipe between two of my daughter's blocks, using a pair of vice grips, that allowed me to remove the inlet fixture and get the dead bees out of the filter.......
Now that the shower "works" I am being treated to a rendition of "this shower sucks" by my wife. Seems the new pump is not as powerful as the old one even with the dead bees removed from the filter. Ah me.
Now I'm off to work on my MBA, with the hope that I get the work done by 5 pm so I can enjoy the remains of the day.

Morning. I've already put about 30 min on the guitar this morning. Woke up just wanting to play that OOO 17. Did some blues stuff. My brother in law is going to take me to the Arlington Guitar Show next weekend so I get to go. I really hope I don't come home with another guitar.

Woke up strangely depressed this a.m for no apparent reason. Thought about it and dismissed it and now I am fine. No real plans for today; a little reading, guitar stuff and maybe the afternoon play on the radio.

Good morning friends! Had my son's two children overnight. Some of their strumming to Pap-Paw's chording. Some of my cat avoiding their paths. Lexie and Ian are quite a trip and I was blessed. Waiting on bacon and egg biscuits. Off to Fillmore, live at 9:15. Repentant, Dan

Good Morning Good People
Cool and clear thsi morning.
Celebrating the bithday of the wonderful woman to whom I have been wed for 22 years. Might make a drive to Saugatuck this afternoon -- an artsy touristy town on Lake Michigan surrounded by sand dunes and deciduous forests.
Getting reacquainted with my Taylor after its visit to the Elderly repair shop. The action is a touch higher than it was, which must mean it wants to be in Orkney tuning.
Have a melodious day one and all. Easy on the syncopation.

Yawn.
Good morning, I'm waking up after getting home late from the hockey game last night. The Bolts finally showed up and played a great game. There is hope yet for this season.
Anyway, I'm going to relax today and enjoy my new Martin while I assiduidously work on opening it up.
Have a great day everyone.

Evan,
I wish today were the last day of this MBA. I have three more classes to complete after this one. Shall we say I will be happy when I have the degree in hand?

Good morning, and a cool and sunny morning here, 28 degrees F., but gonna hit 60.
Perfect day for yardwork: the timing of the leaves, the sun, low wind so I can do some brush burning, and the Vikings have a bye week.
I discovered something about my car today that I laughed at. The onboard computer sees fit to display a subtle "ICY" warning whenever the outside temp is below freezing, it would seem.
I am gonna see THAT thing a lot in the next few months! Never mind that the roads are dry as can be right now, of course. Sheesh.
Just back from the sooper-mart and am gonna load up the Crotchpot with beef chunks, some ground pork, celery, red spuds, onions, carrots, cilantro, garlic and half a jar of Paul Newman Sockerooni sauce. I think that around 4 p.m., it should smell pretty good in Casa Hammondi.
That will be a good time to pretend that I am Ken Larsson and get to work on opening up my new Martin!

Good morning to one and all. It's crisp in Brooklyn this morning, and sunny. A year ago today, I had the extreme honor and pleasure of eloping with the woman I love, to Stone Ridge, NY. The ceremony was presided over by a local judge from Marbletown (with a nod to Tim Stafford of the band Blue Highway), under a great spreading oak tree on the grounds of the 200-year-old Dutch stone mansion in which we stayed. My best friend, Ira, and his sweetheart, Jen, drove up in a thunderstorm the night before to be our witnesses. Jen is a mezzo-soprano, and sang a beautiful song for us from Kurt Weill, whose title is "Stay Well," I believe. To observe the occasion, we are going to brunch, and then perhaps purchase a piece of art together, as a gift to each other. No Renoir or Degas, but hey--you can't have everything. Unless, of course, we hit the big lotto.
In other good and breaking news, the bluegrass band with which I was playing last year, The Blue Moon Ramblers, is back in action as of yesterday's rehearsal. Our fiddle player came back (she missed us?), and the rehearsal went well. We sounded as tight as ever. My voice is a bit shaky due to recent surgery in the throatal area, but it is improving in increments each day.
I hope each of you has a great Sunday.

Yes, it is great news.
And my marriage is intact and wonderful.
