NUMMERS! I just scarfed three strips of this ambrosia! Cudahy is a meatpacker so wonderful that they named a Milwaukee suburb after it!

Good morning again.
I got a little more sleep and feel much more presentable. No major plans for today. Not gonna be much on tv. The race was last night. Maybe we can take the little fella to the park.

G`day folks, Well once again my plans of hiking today went out the window in favour of recording. I spent the day with all things guitar. Except when our shower went crazy and I had to pretend I was a plumber.
The weather is nuts here. We`ve just been put on stage 2 water restrictions( no watering the garden or washing the car allowed) in what is the worst drought in history. Meat and veg is skyrocketing as the farms go under. It`s going to be tough here.
Have a great day Matt

Good Sunday morning.
Matt, that sounds horrible. How long has it been since it rained? Is it all of the country or just your part? I am afraid that I don't know very much about Australia.
My dad wanted to move there when I was in my mid-teens. I thought it was a grand idea, except that he wanted me to move with them. I thought having 10K miles between me and my dad was a good idea, if I couldn't send him to the moon or pluto.
I shall do a little ancient Egyptian goddess rain dance for you. It involves skittering across the floor hissing and arching of one's back and tail. I hope you aren't scared easily.
No, kidding aside Matt, I really would love to know more about what's going on. Please tell us more.
The rest of you fortunate North Americans, happy blustery cool October day!

I'm wondering if this related to the el Ninio in the Pacific this year.
Hope things get better down under Matt.

Howard, when you have a good marriage and a music group, nothing can be that bad.
Now that it's afternoon for a lot of you...good morning. About 60 degrees here and beautiful. My group and I are one of three acts playing in a benefit this afternoon, which will be fun. That'll eat up much of the day.

Sorry to bump yesterdays daily but Sekh asked and I didn`t think a drought thread would be fun.
Sekh, It`s the whole of Australia really but the worst or most effected is the farming regions..especially New South Wales. Australia`s weather is getting hotter and that is the problem. The rain when it comes is short and runs off before it feeds anything. Of the hottest 14 years in history 10 of them are the last decade. Also we have had record daily temps for this time of year. If it doesn`t rain in the next week then farmers are going to be in a dire situation. This in turn will effect our food prices and our economy. Farmers are off loading their stock because there is not enough grass land to feed them. Of course the Government will subsidise the farmers but that doesn`t address the climate...It helps keep the farms afloat but if you can`t grow then the food prices will still skyrocket. The government is calling a farmers recession. Our city water supplies are down to 45% and as I said we are on stage two water restrictions. Come summer we may go to stage three like other parts of the country. The newspaper is calling for prayers...I just hope for the farmers sake it rains. The other people who are going to feel it are the poor. With basic staples rising in price ,it`s going to be a hard Christmas . Wow all that sounds depressing. I will say we`ve been here before and got through it. Aussies are battlers.
