By the end of this clip I was in tears and I'm not sure why. The whole series is worth watching.

Wynton has a beautifully unique gift of expression. Even when he's off the cuff his phrasing is evocative of so much.
Great fiddle player!

Fookin awesome Russ. At first I didn't realize that was Mark O'Connor
Who was the guitarist? He really listened to the soloists.

That's James Chirillo on guitar--pretty old-school big-band guy. He also has some instructional videos on YouTube. I see from his Wikipedia entry that he had the guitar chair in the Army's equivalent of the the Navy's Commodores, which is where my friend and teacher (but don't blame him for my slow progress) Steve Abshire had that gig at about the same time. FWIW, he has one of the best explanations of what Freddie Green was doing and why: academy.jazz.org/Video/James+Chirillo+Breaks+Down+Playing+Guitar+in+the+Style+of+Freddie+Green/On edit: Here he is doing quite a bit more than FG comping:

Evan, do the Marsalis clan members play around NOLA with any regularity? Not like they used to. Used to be you could catch Ellis solo with no cover most every week.
