I spent the last few days at a 37th Armor regimental reunion. It was good to see all the vets. We also has 10 active duty officers and NCOs come up, to include the commander of 2nd battalion from Fort Bliss. I'd have to spend a lot more time than I have explaining how these gatherings help some folks work through things. It was worth it.
It was also in Las Vegas. While I enjoyed seeing Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon, Vegas just isn't my bag.
Off to work and a full inbox I'm sure. I could not, for whatever technical reason, get my VPN or remote email accounts to connect. My guess is I have over 150 emails. Fooey. I need to hurry up and win that lottery so I can quit workin'...
46 but heading up to 72 today. Barb has doctor appointments today and I have them tomorrow. I spent some time figuring out a decent arrangement of God Bless the Child over the weekend using the James Taylor/John Pizzarelli version as a base. Always liked that song. Time to get to the table. Coffee is seductively calling me.
I heard there are photos of Paul at the Elvis Lives conference in Vegas. Front row. That’s what I heard.
good morning. 58 degrees this am. Not too bad for the bike ride but I'll have to winterize my riding outfit for the months when we have mornings in the 30's with a few 20's mixed in. Bird sightings this morning include two sandhill cranes in a construction site with one standing on top of a large mound of sand keeping lookout. Be well, be happy.
I chose the road less traveled, now where the hell am I?
43 degrees, heading for 74 today. I'll join some other ski club members at 10:45 (60 degrees) for a bike ride from Cedar Rapids to Solon and back. The ride should be about 27 miles and hopefully there will be some beautifully colored trees to look at.

Back from Sisters. A little chilly here, but the fireplace is on, and the dog is snoring. Nita is heading out to a card stamping class in a bit so I’m going to make huevos rancheros for breakfast.

Sunny and clear, cherishing the last pleasant days before November hits us with wind and rain and cold. Trying to motivate myself to work on Stuff To Be Done Before Winter, which includes mortar repair, caulking and painting.

Due to friends visiting I had a house full of pretty women this weekend and we all went to see Ruthie Foster in a fairly small venue on Saturday night. She absolutely killed. That girl can SANG.

New Uncle Doug video on YouTube so I'm getting a late start. If you like tube amps check out Uncle Doug, he's like some cranky old fart we know that does guitar repair but with tube amps.
I'm still alive.... "virtual good morning" with my friends. I'm not working today. I'm just recovering. Enjoy your days.
We look at the outside clues that people show and make up stories. The stories are just stories. Interconnected. Making up stories is what human beings do. But, if we are wise, we can slow down, remember stories and learn.
