39 degrees. I may have to turn on the furnace for a few minutes so Barb’s teeth will stop chattering. We got our Moderna boosters last night. My arm is a bit sore but nothing much. Sunny today with rain tomorrow. Have good ones.

Up and awake. I was going to put this on Facebook, but figured I just put it here instead. Caveat is a noun. It has always been a noun. It will never be a verb. Stop using it as a verb. OK, I feel better.

There's frost on the pumpkin this morning.
There's an outdoor ski club meeting this afternoon, btw, Breckinridge turned on there anow makers this week.
There's also a celebration of life today for a former ski club member who passed away from COVID about a year ago.

OK, I feel better. How does one even make it a verb? (I almost said "how does one verb caveat?" Yeah, I just verbed verb. Aaahhh, I did it again!!!!!!!!!!I'm infected!)

Nippy morning but sunny. Probably time to clean the garage and put the hoses and deck furniture away followed by leaf mulching.

"And, gift is a noun while gifted is an adjective. Never have they been verbs. Stop using them as verbs." Amen.
Good morning. It'll be 50s-80s here. No complaints about that. I was just checking the yard after a week's absence. Squash are forming and it looks as if some corn may be almost ready to harvest.
I got some chiles in a farmer's market in Corrales NM and I feel obligated to make chili tonight so as to put them to good use.
Mostly I plan to do nothing much today. It was a great trip but I'm physically and emotionally drained from all the travel and the family interactions. Enjoy your day.

I caveat around the house.
Rainy day. Taking our daughter to the dump this am to dispose of leftover crap from her latest chicken coop build. Girls be crazy. Chickens are a pain, predators enjoy them. At least I get some free eggs for the effort,
Picked up my buddy and had a nice lunch yesterday. Told me why he’s not driving. He was accused of doing a hit and run in a McDonalds. Cops came and wrote him a ticket, based on the driver who said she was hit and two of her “witnesses”. Thing is, this is not how this guy rolls. He is 68, retired, and was the head of safety and training for a major school district Transportation dept for over 25 years. This hit and run thing was news to him. And his car? Brand new Chevy Volt, EV, not so much as the tiniest scratch on it. Nothing. Nada. Zip. So he gets a lawyer, who is sure it’s a setup, but the only way to fight is to hire a private investigator and that will cost around ten K. With a not guaranteed outcome. So my friend just goes to court, is found guilty, and loses his license for 90 days, and there will be insurance fallout for him. It’s a complete cluster %#$&, and it has changed his view of the justice system, sigh.

Productive morning, hit the supermarket for general provisions, filled up the car with $2.99 gas, then got it washed, then off to Trader Joe's for some specialty items and finally an orchard stop for the last of the Honeycrisp harvest.
The hardwoods are still aglow with brilliant leaf color, and they contrasted nicely with frost on the grass this morning, especially as I passed the U of M golf course.
Skyr yogurt and blueberries consumed, pills taken, coffee poured. Sun pouring in my eastern windows. Things could be worse.

Just barely awake. I watched a great movie and I can’t remember the name here I’ll let you know. Ageism memory. I just found it …
.the ice storm.
In the 1970s, an outwardly wholesome family begins cracking at the seams over the course of a tumultuous Thanksgiving break. Frustrated with his job, the father, Ben (Kevin Kline), seeks fulfillment by cheating on his wife, Elena (Joan Allen), with neighborhood seductress Janey (Sigourney Weaver). Their teenage daughter, Wendy (Christina Ricci), dabbles in sexual affairs too -- with Janey's son Mikey (Elijah Wood). The family's strained relations continue to tauten until an ice storm strikes.
Enjoy your days.

Pleasant sunny weather here in Tucson. Yesterday I tried to get my Moderna booster. Got very far into answering questions on the website for a Monday appointment when I could not proceed. Went back in later with a different browser and didn't get nearly as far. apparently the website isn't working properly. Will try again today. If that fails, I'll walk in on Monday and see what happens. I am barely past 6 months from my second dose. Oddly, I saw nothing on various news sites about the booster being approved. Had to go looking for it.
Pancakes are being made and I'm not making them. Got some applesauce and home brewed yogurt to put on them.

Leon is playing a rather rare Gibson CF-100, Basically a fancy cutaway LG model made between 1950 and 1959.

Actually, caveat is a verb--in Latin, as in the phrase "caveat emptor," "let the buyer beware." (Its cousin is "cave canem"--"beware of the dog.") So a caveat (noun) is a shortened nominalization of a Latin independent clause.
