Not much here today, had good food/wine last eve with a couple people over.
Covid cases have fallen here--maybe more like crashed. Locally, there have been a few days or a week with zero/almost zero positives, and no deaths. I hope it lasts.

The Venisons visited my front yard just now, two young'ns and two juveniles, and they didn't freak out when a car or two passed by and weren't bothered by the young student standing on the corner waiting for her school bus. They seemed to really like one leafy shrub in particular in my neighbor's yard.

good morning. Rain all morning so no bike ride today....well, maybe this afternoon. I didn't know the Stones are playing at Raymond James in Tampa later this week until they talked about it during the football game yesterday.
I chose the road less traveled, now where the hell am I?
Good morning. The last two nights I've made spicy dinners--green chile and a shrimp stir-fry--and I've paid for it with erratic sleep. Maybe my cast-iron stomach is starting to rust a little.
An old friend's coming over for backyard coffee at 9:30. That's about it for plans although I have a long to-do list I'll start tackling.
The virus numbers here are depressing. The state's been getting 2500-3000 new cases and 30-50 new deaths a day. Those figures are projected to increase through the end of the year. You'd think this bug would start running out of people to infect but there's no sign of it. We never had much in the way of legal restrictions and what few we had have been lifted.
Keep on the sunny side. If there isn't one because of rain, keep indoors.
Lots of their relatives around here lately. A few are pretty big, too. They must eat well.
Around here you can rent a herd of goats to clean out unwanted brush, weeds, vines, etc. They are very efficient.
Deer are closely related to goats. My cabin is surrounded by thick woods and it was getting pretty brushy. There is no hunting allowed around the cabin area. The deer are everywhere and about mid summer I noticed the woods starting to look different, more open.
By this fall, the woods are basically free of leaves from the ground up to about 5 feet and a lot of the brush and twigs are gone. The deer have really cleaned it out.

I've shut down the shop ventilation system and am ready to start the humidifier system and hydration chamber as soon as the shop humidity level takes a constant drop below 40%.

Morning all. Showers today in the forcast, and a bunch of people without power from yesterday’s storm. We are good though.
Heading off to the bank safety deposit box in a bit to collect our birth certificates for our interview tomorrow with the TSA for their safe travelers program. If they decide we are not terroists, we get to use the short line at the airport. It should not be too heavy of a lift but we will see.

So, Darryl, how did that roast turn out?
The roast was very tender. Taste wise, I could detect a slight taste of onion and jalapeno. There may be a stronger taste once I get farther into the roast. I didn't cut it all up yesterday, so what I tasted was from the outside. Today or tomorrow I'll get into it farther. I'll probably cut up a bunch and make some beef noodle or beef barley soup on Wednesday. I'll try to remember to post an update later in the week.
Got the dock out today. Windy and mid 40’s but there is enough manual labor involved that those are perfect conditions. Not sure how much longer I’ll be able to do it by myself.
Marty I used the winch in a pipe rig for the second year and it continues to work well.
Heard two music friends got the virus. One was vaccinated (In February but no booster) and it was nothing, just lost taste and smell but almost no other symptoms. 10 days later feels normal. The other was not and was in the hospital for a week with all the big drugs, monoclonal antibody Rx etc. and is still on home oxygen but doing better.

I got both the second Moderna dose and my flu shot back to back this afternoon. My doctor said that was fine. It's almost four hours later and I feel absolutely fine.
