Took it easy today, a couple minor garden things, grocery shopping, out with the dog, no bike ride (maybe tomorrow). Talked to my brother (Colorado) for a while. I made salads, wife did the fish and rice.
Got a cute mailing from the older granddaughter--pictures she'd drawn, and she's learning to write a little, too.

It’s not raining! The sun is actually showing itself. Looks like a much different day. Enjoy.

It’s raining. It’s still dark. Why am I up? Interview with the TSA today. That should be interesting. Might go to Costco after the TSA thing. That is the day, so far.

I see a nap in my future. Got my Moderna booster in the early afternoon yesterday. About 11 hours later I had chills. Had to keep layering on clothes so I could sleep. Then an hour later I was hot and started delayering. At 4:00 AM or so I finally got out the thermometer. I was at 100.1. when I got up for real, I was at 99.1, so I think I'll live. I didn't have this kind of reaction to either of my first two doses.
Errands were on the agenda for today, but we'll see how things play out. Tomorrow I have to chauffeur Mr. H to a medical appointment. Then a Zoom call, but only social, then choir practice if I feel up to it. Thursday is a dental appointment for me and I can't go there with a fever.

Good morning. Hobson, I hope the side effects pass quickly.
It should be a beautiful day. In fact it already is. I took a pleasant walk a while ago. Today I'll whittle away at a to-do list that consists mostly of pretty modest tasks that I haven't gotten around to. Getting a flu shot is one item on it.
Enjoy your day.

Just home from Jams, the new coffee shop in Urbana. The name, Jams, is from the first letter of the names of the four people who own it. Parents, and I believe daughter and SIL.
They do sell jam/jelly and this morning I scored a jar of peach - habanero jelly.

I have heirloom squash and corn ripening in the garden. These are varieties grown by the pre-Columbian people. There's not a lot of information out there about growing them. I was wondering how to tell if they're ripe. Luckily, Google knows everything. It's a good thing I checked. The corn should be left on the plant until it dries thoroughly. That wouldn't have been my guess.
We know how to cook squash. The corn variety was grown for grinding into meal and that's not something I have experience with. I'm not sure what we'll do with it but it can be popped.

Interesting opportunity today at 4:00; could be nothing or could be a very good thing. Well see.

By the cars in the lot it looks like it's getting a decent business. Stay dry, Howard. By the looks of thing you're getting the brunt of the weather.

It hasn't rained since about 10:30 am. Still cloudy, breezy, and cool, perhaps some more precipitation on the way. Tomorrow's forecast is for sunny, breezy, and cool. I can deal with that. We also live at one of the highest points in the borough, about 137' above sea level, so floods in this neighborhood are about as rare as hen's teeth, as a rural person might say.
But thanks, Todd.

We are 732 feet above sea level. I see some flooded fields and roads around me.
