65° and raining in New York. Heavy rain, possible t-storms and high winds in the forecast for this afternoon. The leaves on the trees turned, finally, and it's dim and gray outside. It definitely looks like autumn.

Morning, y'all. I took a walk just as the sun was rising. That's when the world is at its best.
This morning my wife and I will haul "uncontained trash" out to the street for the city to pick up. That term applies to most things within certain size limits. Our pile will consist mostly of branches, plus a worn-out chair. People scavenge the piles of stuff and I wouldn't be surprised to see the chair get taken.
Couple of inches of new snow. Windy. Had a good wine bar job last night. Was just a cold rain on the way home but I have to go to a nearby town today to help set up sound and practice for a Saturday performance.
Idonwannadothat. It’s nasty outside.

There is nasty white stuff on the ground. And a cold, stiff wind. I'm glad I'm in a heated house and not a cold cave. Kind of makes up for the Deep State and the loss of freedom.

The nephew ans sister-in-law are visiting with the Golden Retriever. Now we have three dogs barking.
My nephew is 11. He has mild Aspergers.
This weekend I will teach him how to ride a bike and tie his shoe laces. His Dad is a fireman who gets so much overtime his days off are sleeping and recovery. After that, it's walk the dogs, play chess, and consume mass quantities.
Had good news this week. Had a prostate procedure (ultrasound and needle biopsy). It was done in the hospital under anesthesia. And despite having an elevated PSA level (11.1), in 24 cores (yes 24 !) he found no evidence of cancer. He said, I'll live forever. (Or at least it won't be prostate cancer that will get me).
I also had a 6 week update with Olga the Russian Rheumatologist, and she said the steroids have reduced the inflammation blood markers to almost nothing. I'm having a little issue in weening down the steroid dosage, but we should be able to manage and monitor that.
I certainly feel lucky (and guilty?) considering what many people I know here, and everywhere, are dealing with.
Life is crazy. Make the most of what you've been given.

Good news. Glad your rear end is still your friend.

I’m back in PA helping my Mom sort through some things, and working to get access to the right accounts so I can monitor the right things. Mom is 100% on paper. It’s been interesting trying to round up account numbers and so forth.
I really have to get all of my accounts, numbers and login info on one document for Kathy. If I kick it, I want her to enjoy the insurance money. I don’t want her to have to figure out where it all is.

Very good idea, Paul. In the last few years I've seen a couple of family members trying to sort through the mysteries left by people who hadn't done that very well. In one case, it hadn't been done at all.

Morning from from paradise. I know, it’s not really paradise, but it can seem that way when you are on vacation here. Yesterday we went to Anini beach, just another gorgeous picture postcard place where we got to jump in the water and play. Very happy with my new swim fins. I have some foot issues, neuropathy and some other stuff, and at 71 I’m not as strong as I used to be, but the new Kicks fins have a VERY comfortable foot pocket and are a bit smaller so they seem a perfect solution for older somewhat impaired surfers. So back to the beach today for some mat surfing.
The daughter and fiancé fly in tomorrow and we will pick them up. The crisis du jour was that she couldn’t find something she wanted for her wedding dress and was freaking out. The second crisis concerns the availability of flowers. The shut down apparently killed the flower industry and there is not much available and what there is is very expensive. Oh well., you get to play the card you handed. Wedding is on Thursday. Fingers crossed.
