Taking Mr. H to an appointment this morning. We'll see what the weather is doing before we decide when to do our walk. Had a few drops of rain overnight and it's overcast. The usual Wednesday Zoom social chat will happen this afternoon, but I think we'll only be on it for a short time. Got a pumpkin pie to create, wild rice to cook for stuffing, and some other Thanksgiving prep. Plus I have the draft of the latest reserve study for our HOA to review. Maybe I'll put that off until Friday and enjoy the holiday. Choir rehearsal would be tonight, but we get the week off.
No guitar playing yesterday, but I practiced choir music and played a lot of keyboard. Surprised myself by being able to play through some Christmas music on the first try. Guess I have made some progress since last year.

Chilly, overcast morning. I'll be heading out, to Cedar Rapids, soon, to pick up our fresh Turkey, then back home to make cranberry sauce. While the cranberry sauce cools I'll run to Vinton, to Fareway, to pick up some additional grilling meat, and a few other things. Laundry and pack tonight, Wisconsin tomorrow.

Good morning. Yesterday I harvested the first squash from our fall crop. It's pumpkin-shaped, green and about seven inches across at the widest part. Its a cucurbita moschata variety, related to butternut. Five other squash will be ready before long. This is my first experience with growing squash. If the results are tasty I'll do it again. Younger daughter will be landing at the airport in about an hour. This afternoon I'll smoke a pork loin for dinner. Enjoy your day.

"Skiff of snow," I like that, Steve, had not heard it before.
The origin is not clear, but some think it came from the Scottish verb "skiff," which means to lightly move across a surface barely touching it, as perhaps a "skiff" of snow barely covers the ground. The term appears to be colloquial, used mainly in northern parts of the country and in Canada to describe a minor rainfall or snowfall or a light breeze. The Oxford English Dictionary defines a skiff as "a slight gust of wind or shower of rain, etc. Also, a light flurry or cover of snow."

No guitar yesterday, but I played a 3 hr gig the night before. And I did go out and see another friend perform at his CD release show.
Played some Pickleball this morning. Found a good indoor group to play with. I’ll probably do a lot more of that this winter.
