Yes, donuts are good, but I had to settle for Pop-Tarts this morning.
Another busy clinic day.
I hope all of you have a great day!

Donuts are good, but I don't have any, I had an orange instead. Having an orange with your morning coffee is just not the same as a donut.
Gig yesterday went well, they want us back in January.
Today, since the temp will be in the upper 50s, with wind from the S or SW, I shall go to the cabin and blow leaves. It's mostly a fire prevention thing, I want to get them away from the cabin and other buildings, just in case.

Good morning
Got up as usual just after 6am to make coffee for Me Darling Wife. Put the coffee on and went back to bed for a few minutes to let it brew. Got up to pour some for DaWife and no coffee, in fact the coffee maker is not even hot and the power light is on, shit no heating element. Well our coffee pod maker will also brew ground coffee so I made a half dozen cups in that and put it in a thermos for her. I get to go buy another Mr. Coffee today. This one lasted two years or so. We went through two expensive Krieg's in under a year that didn't make better coffee. They were nice because they had a both pot and pod makers in one unit and a water tank that held several pots worth of water. But at $169 compared to $20 each for single units I'll stick with the single units.
Down to my shop to glue something up and then off to buy a coffee maker.

Morning Sunshiners! Expected high of 47F! Nice way to start off December!
Ok, so most of you are wondering what's so nice about a high of 47F. Mike wouldn't even get out bed if the expected high were 47F. He'd stay in bed and watch Hawaii Five-0 re-runs while having his dachshunds bring him Mai Tais.
But, 47F on a North Dakota December day is pretty darn nice. We even have blue skies and sunshine! Whooee!

Thanks for the recommendations guys, they will get passed on to granddaughters because I'm going to get another Mr. Coffee. This will allow us to make coffee right away AND give granddaughters something to consider buying Grandma for Christmas. If they do get her one of those nice makers the new Mr. Coffee will go down to my shop.
Since the damn tubing finally showed up this morning I prepped and started painting handle shafts for string winders. This is done with high temp black crinkle paint, this is the stuff they use on engine valve covers. Tomorrow I will bake them for an hour. I like the look and the paint is very durable. I will also cut the tubing to handle length today.
Time to go spray the second coat of crinkle paint.

Great weather for December 1st.
I get the cheap coffee makers. As long as it makes hot water drip over coffee grounds, it can make decent coffee. That's what coffee makes do.

I once served as arbitrator in a case where a coffee expert testified. He explained why keeping the coffee on a heating element causes the flavor to deteriorate quickly. So I got a Black & Decker coffee maker that puts the brewed coffee into a carafe. It stays plenty hot. The flavor holds up much better. I've stuck with this variety for over a decade now.

A co-worker once told me that he swears by this tip -- put three pennies on the coffeemaker's heating surface -- coffee stays warm but retains flavor. I've never tried that.

Excellent idea. When we brew coffee, we have a pre-warmed carafe standing by to receive the coffee as soon as it's done. We use a Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffee maker and have had ours for fifteen years without problems. Model DCC-1200My cousin has a very similar model but with a stainless steel thermal carafe as part of the unit. The idea is the same, don't let the coffee sit on the heating element. Model DCC-1850
