As the great city of Chicago is riveted by the non-stop excitement of the Jussie Smollett case and the fact that it appears to be not only about a hoax, but the stupidest hoax ever conceived by man, I find myself saying, meh! It will be 60 today. That’s what is important. 60. How many more 60s will we get before Old Man Winter wakes up? Enjoy the sunny warmth. Jussie is a dope, by the way. A real dope.

Happy December 2nd. We may get into the 60s today in which case Scotch O'clock will be on the back porch at the usual 4:00pm. Our liquor store is almost out of Scotch but I managed to get a bottle of Glenlivet 12 yesterday and they expect a delivery next Wednesday.
We were planning a small Christmas with just the 2 of us and maybe our neighbor for Christmas dinner but plans change. My daughter-in-law had a knee replacement scheduled for the 17th and wouldn't be able to travel but it was postponed until January and now they are coming down for Christmas so Mary will put up the Christmas village and I'll put up the big tree rather than the table top one. At least I have some time to get ready. It's been a year and a half sine they were last here. So, between that and the warmer weather today, so far it's a good day.
Stay well if you can.

So far it's a good day here as well. Let's see if I can keep from screwing that up.

Pea soup fog. Saw a truck in the ditch when I ran out to the shop around 530. Grabbed stuff to pull him out but he was gone by the time I got to him.
76 today.

About a moth ago, I signed up to be a Salvation Army bell ringer on December 2nd. I was hoping that the weather wouldn't be too cold and nasty then, but you can't predict a month ahead.
Well today's the day, my bell ringing duty is from noon to 2:00 PM, and the forecast is for a temperature of 54 degrees. Should be fun.

Unusual that our weather is the same as in the midwest, but we'll hit the 60s today. Our average date for the creek to fully ice over is Dec 1 but it's still running free and clear.
Cheers

Morning. Still unseasonably warm here. We saw some high 60's yesterday. Been feeling "pre sick" since yesterday morning so probably gonna head home and spend the day reading a book.

What gets me is how much attention this bozo's hapless scheme gets. The CPD says they spent 3,000 hours tracking down this case. That's why they're pissed. I say "What about catching the car-jacking ring? Or gang shootouts on public streets in broad daylight? Or smash-and-grab store break-ins?"

Morning. Off to do something. Hope I remember once I get in the car. A smash-and-grab at the local Farm-and-Fleet, no doubt.

Looking for a financial planner that will put his money in my bank and advise me to retire soon. I’ve got a Nigerian financial adviser that is guaranteeing a great return on the investment I just made with him.

Another remake.... we'll see what happens The first 1957 West Side Story "There was a magical, once-in-a-lifetime quality in that initial collaboration: Leonard Bernstein's heart-piercingly beautiful music, Stephen Sondheim's trenchant yet romantic lyrics, Arthur Laurents's book and Jerome Robbins' classically-inspired choreography" by BBC
