Nobody wants to start the daily? Ok, the task falls to me. Foggy here. Breakfast awaits.

The Library of Congress has posted 8,837 hi-res scans of my father's photo collection that are available for download—free to use and in the public domain. Please remember to run his credit line. Enjoy browsing the 442 pages of thumbnails.
I'm thinking of all the possible royalties my family will never see.
And, good morning.

Good morning. We had a fair amount of rain during the night, which is almost always good. It'll be cooler for a while.
This morning I'll have coffee with a friend, still outside because of our bad Covid numbers. I'll bundle up.
Enjoy your day.

Rainy again here. It has been a soggy week.
Today is the last day of finals. Students will be leaving in droves.

Howard, I tried your link and couldn't get much of anywhere. Is this all work he did as a federal employee?

It's working for me... click on the link and scroll down the page to see the first thumbnails. Or just go to the main page and use the search bar to select Photos, Prints, Drawings and type in his name.
He was never a federal employee, except for two years in the US Army Signal Corps, 1949-50. Most of this work is what he shot for Newsweek, 1957 through 1988.

Thanks, Howard. It works fine. That's quite a collection.
PS: It's odd to look through these and see a lot of people who were famous 40-50 years ago. With a few exceptions, such as the Beatles, Trump and Tutu, they're all pretty much forgotten. Morris Udall, who was a thoroughly decent guy, is remembered by older people in Arizonan but probably not elsewhere. Fame is fleeting.

Not a good start to the day. I eagerly pulled out the fresh blueberries I picked up yesterday only to discover I was out of Cheerios. Why does life have to be so hard.

I am not laughing at you, but with. Same thing happened to me. I was out of Honey Nut Cheerios and was stuck with plain. Not the same.

Plan is to brave the storm of the century to have lunch with Marty. And Billy Bob. Good morning. Trying to get myself moving, maybe a little more coffee.

They always have the Chocolate and Peanut Butter ones but that's because they suck.

That's how the old man set it up with the LoC. It was in his contract—the photos were restricted by copyright only during his lifetime. I don't think I'd ever retain a lawyer to wade into that legal swamp.

Foul weather in the forecast, although it sounds like most of it will be north of me. Just returned from Vinton, stopped for a few minutes at Phil's place, then the usual, Theisens, Fareway and the bank. A few raindrops on the windshield as I drove home
Day one of cat sitting completed, we both seem to be getting along ok.

Unlike poor epaul and Marty, my day has started well. Only 9:30 a.m. and I have already been to the dentist, had my chompers x-rayed, cleaned, and give a good bill of health, AND had two good cups of coffee.
It is going to be a great day.
