Actually at the Oak Brook Shopping Center. Getting real dicey out there. All we know is 2 guys who knew each other got into an argument and opened fire on each other. One guy hit 3 times. 3 women bystanders also hit. The second perp is at large.
Sad times.

TV just posted a security camera pic of the guy they’re looking for. F***ing gang bangers ! Ghetto culture is spilling out all over. Everybody’s got a Saturday night special and the machismo to whip it out.

Usually unregistered and stolen, because of that they don't get proper instruction. There is a whole lot more to a gun than just pulling it out and shooting, a whole lot more. I own 4 real Saturday Night Specials, Doug liked to collect them also. In a fight they are worthless, more danger to innocent bystanders and the person shooting than the one being shot at.

Back in my day the gangs used zip guns. Also chains, switchblade knives, and fist packs made with a church key (beer can opener) sticking out one end to claw open their opponents faces.

Those people are only after each other. We don’t want them shooting bystanders, we want their aim to be deadly. The ones who shoot lots of people are mostly loners, not gang members.

Don't know where you're getting your information, Donald. (Just teasing you, Mark). Around here there's lots of street shootouts. Would seem like strange behavior for lonely people. Last night the cops said the perps "were known to each other." Coded talk, me suspects, for rival social clubs.

A lot of the guns used in Chicago area shootings have been traced to Indiana gun shows. There are weekly gun shows/swaps in the area that attract a lot of IL license plates.

Let them kill each other off.

Yeahbut, on 12/23 at the second largest shopping center in the metro area at the busiest shopping time of the year is not the place you want 2 bangers to settle up scores.

I didn’t mean to imply that gang members don’t shoot lots of people, only that their targets are mostly other gang members. Innocent people may be shot in a gang shootout but they aren’t the intended victims. The people who commit mass murder of unarmed innocent people are mostly loners and I don’t recall reading about any who were gang members. Iowa seems to have lots of gun shows too. Since I don’t attend them, I have no idea how many out-of-state people show up.

Chicago has buried quite a few unintended victims in the last year.

I don’t want gang members shooting it out anywhere any time. I was only thinking that public safety might benefit from . . . Oh never mind. Blessed holidays to you and yours.

I live in a majority black city and yes, ghetto culture is spilling out everywhere. Malls have become a common gang battleground.
Just over the fence not 50 yards from our house a gun battle between two cars happened in broad daylight. About 6 weeks ago. They just caught one of the shooters in Georgia.

In the 80’s when the kids were in H.S. there was a French exchange student in one of their classes. Once he remarked how surprised he was not to be seeing gun battles in the street every day. Even back then that was their concept of America.
Probably a little like American BBC watchers going to England and being surprised that there aren’t several murders a week in the quiet little country villages.
