Steve it sounds like you're traveling sounds tough. I'm sure there's a lot of people moving around or deleted or cancelled flights
My new Christmas has been a little crazy too it's not a big deal. I haven't wrote in my Xmas cards yet.

It is 64°F here today. No snow. Weird.
Hoping for good staffing levels at American Airlines Saturday as we are scheduled to fly to Cancun for a week. It will be slightly warmer there but with swimming pools and a lot more ocean than here.
Friends have a time share in Cancun and every few years invite us to share it.
I wouldn't mind having money, but sometimes having friends with a little more than me suffices.

Positive Covid test results are not "wrong 50% of the time". That is not correct.

The blizzard has shut down the Newfolden airport and all flights are grounded. No doubt this is the cause of much of the problems currently being experienced by the airlines.

I just got negative results from a Covid test. Don't need a test to go to Mexico but will have to take one to come home so I wanted to verify that some congestion I have wasn't COVID. Being kept in Mexico for a few weeks might be fun but isn't practical.

The blizzard has shut down the Newfolden airport and all flights are grounded. No doubt this is the cause of much of the problems currently being experienced by the airlines. I remember back in the days of Midwest Express airlines being stuck on the ground for a couple of hours at the Des Moines airport, with no heat and plenty of snow on the ground, while a mechanic drove in on his day off to fix a seat that wouldn't stay "unreclined."

Christine's mom-in-law posted some neat snow photos from their place in Gig Harbor.

Worth considering:
The Musk story is 13 months old.
What generation and kind(s) of test did Musk take?
How have tests and protocols changed in the last 13 months?
What does one data point say about the general proposition "Something extremely bogus is going on"?

I am sure. Musk, according to his own later statements, was infected. Positive Covid test results are not "wrong 50% of the time". Tweets from Elon Musk are not an authoritative source of Coronavirus information. Lateral flow testing is known to give false negative results sometimes. In correctly administered lateral flow tests, false positives are comparatively rare.

What does one data point say about the general proposition "Something extremely bogus is going on"? Also worth considering: This currently seems to be a pandemic of positive tests with no correlation to how many people actually get sick, and more specifically, how many people actually get sick enough to notice if they had not been required to test to do normal stuff. And now, as in the case of holiday airline travel, those folks are currently required to not come to work for the arbitrary time span of 10 days simply because the test, not the disease, popped positive. And finally, exactly what is the error rate for these tests then (if not 50%)? If you don't have better data, then I guess you're just guessing, too.

He went for a test - negative, so he went to another place - negative and finally went to another place - positive. So he is quaranteening.

Temp has dropped into single digits, the hardware store guy picked up my snowblower to get it running again and in the meantime plowed my driveway, so I dodged a bullet there. Alert readers will recall that Elderdottir and I feasted on genuine Mexican food last night, tonight was great stuff at this Thai place with a seemingly endless menu: www.krungthepthai.co/menu.html

We are actually scheduled for some winter weather tomorrow, so it's good you made it back, Daryll.
Snow and sleet, but above freezing the entire time. I think we'll make it. But what a great morning to sleep in.
