Up and awake. It's a balmy 5 degrees outside. The plow came through overnight, so I am trying hard to muster the willpower to go knock down the snow berm at the end of the driveway.
Tomorrow the students and faculty are all back en masse from the winter break. Next week will be a bit of a zoo as we try and shake off two weeks of "not much going on."

Amazon delivery might not be as much fun today. Cold.

It’s 27 here and that should be the high. It looks like we got a couple of inches of snow, which is a lot less than was predicted. The weather party may be over.
I am going to put new strings on the nylon today. It shouldn’t take more than 15 hours or so. I finally wised up and now use a much less insane method than the “experts” on the web show. Experience is the best teacher.

Whelp, THAT idea was short lived. I was intent on shoveling the entire drive. Apparently it snowed a mixture of concrete and profanity around here yesterday. Back inside...

32 degrees here. Rain is coming. Sposed to get between 4-5 inches this week. My personal yuck meter will be pegged.
Crab cakes and eggs were so good yesterday, I’m doing a repeat this am.

Good morning. It's 29 degrees in the backyard. It's windless, though, and more pleasant than it was yesterday in the 40s with wind.
I'll be attending church virtually. I don't know if the precautions for in-person attendance could be adequate at the moment but I know they're not. My wife and I have decided to take a drive this afternoon to a destination yet to be determined.
Enjoy your day.

It's minus a whole bunch out and the high for the day is predicted to be +5. I'll venture outside at 11:00 and clean up the snow around the entrances, then wait for the plow to come and do the rest.

Good morning. -14F I don't wanna! Meeting the girls for breakfast and they want to go grocery shopping with us. One should never take anyone under 18 years old grocery shopping unless they are paying the bill. It will be a junk food fest.

16 below here. I guess my daughter and I will not get together for skiing today. Maybe next week. Exciting plans for today include taking down the Christmas decorations and watching the Vikings lose to the Packers.

5 below yesterday morning and warmed up to a balmy 17 degrees this morning.
If I get enough coffee in me, think I’ll get my miter saw set up on the outdoor basement pad and put some millwork in the new basement music room. We got the drum set put together yesterday and that’s kind fun and therapeutic to bang on.

Almost ready to walk out the door when plans changed. Kaiah decided she wants to sleep in, that's fine. DaWife is having cold symptoms, mostly a runny nose but wearing a mask would be quite uncomfortable so I decided no shopping for her. She is perfectly happy with that and went back to bed. I'll go do the shopping and I don't have to take a 14 year old. She's not a bad girl, she's 14 and acts like it. All she wants is junk food anyway and I'll allow her a bit of that, just not as much as she wants.

I looked it up & it does look like a great way to go. I would need a luthier who would be willing to do it at a reasonable cost because my 3/8 in Black & Decker doesn’t seem to be the best tool for the job. 🥸

Low of 33 on our patio, but 25 on a neighbor's roof where the local weather station is. So good thing that we moved our planters to the patio yesterday afternoon. They will stay there until tomorrow.
An unusual breakfast for us of bacon, eggs, and toast. Hadn't had bacon in about 6 months and that was on a sandwich. I'll be attending virtual church. My choir isn't singing today and I'm not sure how I feel about being around people for now. Will have to decide when choir rehearsals resume on 1/12. But it's not a yes or no answer. It's exposure over time. We do wear masks at rehearsals and all are vaccinated or say that they are. Mr. H and I are scheduled for our 4th COVID antibody test tomorrow. We've been participating in U of A's study. Don't know whether they've updated their criteria for Omicron. Maybe I'll have results before the 12th.
This would be a good day to take down the Christmas tree and outdoor lights. Or a good day to be lazy.

We hit a low of -33 overnight but have now warmed up to a balmy -17 thanks to a nice influx of tropical air. On our way to -1 by day's end! Cold snap is over.
