On this day in 1961, American country singer ("Our Town") Iris DeMent was born, in Paragould, Arkansas.
Good day to all.

Nasty wind out there today. It’s a good day to stay indoors.

I'd never heard of Paragould. It turns out it's in Arkansas.
Good morning. We'll have sunshine and high 30s to mid-60s. Pretty much a standard January day. Enjoy yours.

I've lived in Arizona (AZ) for over 40 years and never heard of Paragould. That's because it's in Arkansas (AR).
Not much on the agenda today. Didn't get the Christmas tree taken down yesterday because Mr. H was tied up with computer problems. We'll do that today. A Zoom social call later. I did a lot of housework and raking up leaves yesterday and am feeling it today. Starting out at 35F this morning, but later it will be a good day to be outside.

7 degrees out now, the sun is shining and the wind is howling. The wind woke me up at 3:00 this morning, the good news is the current storm will be delivering snow to Minnesota and Wisconsin, but not here.
The coffee is good this morning and our gig yesterday was good. I plan to make a Fareway run later this morning.

Halfway through this agonizing ordeal. Praying for strength to endure until Saturday when I can return to Indiana. Very brave of you. Now, what happened to your left arm? Why the bandage? Shark bite?

Apologies for the error. I knew she was from Arkansas, too, but that early morning brain fog kicked in. Edited for accuracy.

Yes, shark bite, or maybe a starfish. No, actually, being the old, balance-challenged klutz that I am I fall every vacation. This time I was wading in shallow water, stubbed my toe on a hidden rock, and fell down gouging my arm on more rocks and peeling off a fair amount of skin. I have thus ended my pool and ocean time but will still enjoy the warmth.

Good morning.
11F, windy and blowing around the few inches of snow we got overnight and what is still coming down. Don't think I'll go anywhere today.

Good Morning Good People
High winds and starting to snow; 4" - 9" predicted tonight. Many schoolchildren are hoping for a snow day tomorrow. My son, who is a police officer patrolling a downtown college campus, is also hoping for a snow day.
Fighting with iTunes, a fight that will likely lead to a divorce. I have used iTunes in recent years to purchase music and burn it to CDs for use in my vehicle and workshop boombox. Recently bought Steve Baughman's Once Upon a Harp and David Surette's Trip to Kemper, now iTunes won't let me burn them to disks - each attempt results in a destroyed disk. iTunes support is useless (I had already tried everything they suggested) and some googling indicates other people have had the same difficulties, likely due to a software glitch that Apple won't bother to fix.
Have a fine windy Wednesday. May your music play well.
