Coffee calls to me. We had 1/2 inch of snowy dust overnight & it’s cold. It is winter, of course. I hope those who work enjoy the weekend. Those who don’t work can’t tell the weekend from the rest of the week.

Same here, except tea instead of coffee.
Another day feeling fine. Sue is still coughing lightly from her COVID bout. I hear her in the other end of the house. It's been 5 days for her. Looks like we're a "Go" for the trip to Big Bend tomorrow. I have an at-home test kit. I guess I'll swab myself today, but I feel quite normal. Sue has been taking a 4 mile walk each day this week, so she's raring to go. - Crazy world, isn't it.

I'm glad it looks like a go, Marshall.
Good morning. I had a pleasant two-hour walk yesterday morning. A friend came over in the afternoon for coffee in the backyard and we had a good talk. This morning will involve some yard maintenance.
Enjoy your day.

We're both wearing masks with PM2.5 filters. I'm wearing racquetball goggles too. She'll wear glasses. We're flying to Texas. Rumor has it almost no one there masks up. I already figured there'd be a handful of positive people in that aluminum tube with us. We'll be as careful as we can. We booked a room for Sunday night with two beds. I'm still keeping my distance. By Monday night I'll just take my careful chances.

"Rumor has it almost no one there masks up."
With regard to that part of Texas, I strongly suspect the rumor is correct.
PS: You probably know this but there aren't many places to buy much of anything once you're south of I-10.

Round one of shoveling done. I'll head out for round two in 30 minutes or so.
Poor Jules is sick, so it's off to Urgent Care. Pulse oximeter reads 100% oxygen and 99 pulse. We good.
I had one of my faculty get sick last weekend. Same symptoms as Jules, and he tested negative for COVID. The doctor said he probably had strep. When he called me and told me, I had to counsel him that he wasn't authorized to get normal sick. We decided he had a FUI, or Faculty Unauthorized Illness. Yes, we pronounce that "Fooey."

About 5-6” new snow, out to shovel the walks and blow off the deck with my little battery powered snow blower. Bless her little heart, she has a lot of spunk.
Thank God I have a guy that plows the driveway. Worth every penny.
10 below, calm winds, sunny.

We have no temperature here, zippo. Calm and sunny, took care of the driveway snowblowing yesterday so all is good to go run my Circle O' Errands.
It's Senior Grandnugget's birthday, she is now 7, hard to bleeve. She was looking forward to playing in the atypical snow they were supposed to get in the greater Penrose NC metro area, I'll speak with them later in the day.

There are 24,964 new cases reported in Arizona today. I guess it's like that pretty much everywhere at the moment.

Trapped another rabbit this morning. That's two in two days. So, this morning I'll drive out to the coulee and release him where I released his 'special' friend. I suspect my work isn't done, the rabbit "signs" are prolific this year and they have started raising hell with the bush cherries (chewing the bark which will kill the shoot if extensive enough).
(I wrap the trunks of young trees, such as my new dwarf apple, with aluminum foil, but it's tough to wrap a bush(
The bunnies move in over the winter. I start moving them out safely before spring breeding begins. Live traps baited with some greens and veggies can work pretty. I've had the best luck with the large size, the one rated for raccoons and cats. I have had very little luck with the one that says "for rabbits". The one I am using currently is an "auto-set" (the trip sets itself when you lift the door).

This showed up on BoingBoing this morning. The arrangement extends the original tune a bit, but it still comes across as a natural for guitars.

Cloudy here today. It will get to the upper 50s today, and we are supposed to have a rain-and-snow mix by tomorrow morning. Weather in the South can be weird.
Marshall, I hope y'all have a great trip and manage to stay well!

Today's lunch from Culver's, with a little cheese sauce on the side for the broccoli. Hey, a guy could do worse.

I have the Mecum auction from Kissimmee on the telly right now, and they just sold the legendary 1952 George Barris build, the Hirohata Merc, for $1.95 million. It had been expected to bring between $1 million and $1.25 million.
