Last Friday, while skiing at Beaver Creek, Co. I decided to take a lunch break outside and enjoy the warm temps and sunshine on the mountain. There were chairs out in front of the Spruce Saddle Lodge and I picked one and sat down to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather. A couple soon came by and asked if the two chairs next to me were taken and I told them no, they were free for the taking.
They sat down and we started chatting, where you from, what do you like to ski, etc, etc. The guy told me he was from the land of corn, Michigan, and of course I countered with, have you ever been to Iowa? Turns out he had.
The guy sitting next to me was Kyle Hoffman, CEO/owner of Mean Mug Music and they had been the promoters of a show in Iowa City a couple years ago. They currently had shows going on a Aspen and Vail. We visited for an hour or so and then my daughter showed up and Kyle's lady friend asked my daughter to take their picture. Of course, she said she would, and I said I'd get out of my chair so I wouldn't be in the picture. No, the reason they wanted my daughter to take the picture was so the three of us could all be in the picture together. We got the pictures taken, exchanged contact information and went our separate ways to ski.
