And Governor Youngkin has ordered flags flown at half mast for the 2 officers killed at Bridgewater University yesterday. Who does that any more?

I heard about the half-staff and I generally do that but haven't been outside yet today. Since Biden was inaugurated for one reason or another my flag has been at half staff more than full staff. I'd have to trek through the snow to take it down today and I may not do it.

Good morning. Looks like a lot of people will be getting wintry weather soon, from eastern Arizona to Maine. Darn that groundhog.
With our teammates we tied for first in last night's Zoom trivia game. It's nice to put the young whippersnappers we play against in their place.
We have a 40th anniversary coming up and I know better than to neglect preparations for it. That will require one trip today. The Omicron surge is definitely receding (hurray) and I had some hope we'd be able to go to a restaurant but that seems unwise. We've agreed to do it when the numbers aren't so high.
Enjoy your day.

Washington Commanders rolls off the tongue slightly easier than The Washington Football Team. But I liked WFT - no non-sports fan had to question what sport it played.

Good Morning Good People
We are at the northern edge of the storm that is burying LJ. Three to five inches expected by tomorrow morning. Pondering whether to get the snowblower out and make multiple passes or to wait until the snow stops (this is what old retired guys in northern urban areas think about).
Back to the workshop to continue rehabilitating my cheap Taiwanese table saw. Replacing the flimsy belt guard is proving to be more complicated than expected.
Have a fine Wednesday one and all.

Very cold here but no snow in the forecast. There is a big soccer meet tonight at Allianz Field in St. Paul, which has an open roof, should be around zero by match time, which might challenge the Honduran visiting team. The pitch itself is heated, though, so at least their footing should be secure.
Jim Harbaugh is interviewing today for the Vikings coaching job. I think he would be a good choice. Views differ.

The man on the radio said it's Graham Nash's 80th birthday today. Yikes! I just opened a fresh bag of this stuff, it's soooo good.

Morning. Sounds like the coldest air of the year is on its way in. A low temps of -38 is expected by tomorrow morning, which means there will be some good old-fashioned -40s to the north and east. Good to know it can still be done.

Good morning 1F and sunny at the moment.
A sleep full of nightmares last night so I think a early nap today.
A long time customer of mine is retiring and moving to Ecuador of all places. The city of 400,000 is in a high valley and the temps stay high 70s to mid 80s all year. But I'll still have to quiz him as to why Ecuador. There are better than a dozen guitar shops in town but most of them little more than a 8X12 rental storage space. Don't know if he speaks Spanish.
Down to my shop.

And Governor Youngkin has ordered flags flown at half mast for the 2 officers killed at Bridgewater University yesterday. Who does that any more? Happens all the time in Minnesota. There's a trio of flags in the roundabout at the edge of campus (two blocks from our house), and they fly at half-staff with some frequency.

Bracing for the current rain to change to sleet, then to snow with 4-8 inches expected by Thursday evening. Retired, so don't have to be out but we worry about our children who do.

Remember folks, tomorrow is National Kill a Ground Hog Day.

We had less than three inches of snow, and the sun is out now. I shoveled and the drive and walks are clear already. My kinda storm. I'm headed back to the MRI folks at the VA for my hip, and back to PT for my shoulder. My boss turns 50 in March. I told him, "The night before you turn 50, and bunch of folks will jump out of your closet and kick the crap out of you. You'll never fully heal." (Doing a tour in the 82nd Airborne Division certainly didn't help...)
