Hey, songs have endings too. - A pistol wheeled out of an overcoat and played that old one two,
And Red lay dead while the other two men sat down to eat their stew. - They buried her in the old churchyard, sweet William’s grave was nigh her,
And from his heart grew a red, red rose, and from her heart a briar.
They grew and grew up the old church wall, ’til they could grow no higher, And there they tied a true lover’s knot, the red rose and the briar. - Way back in old Pennsylvania, among those beautiful pines,
There’s one less Philadelphia lawyer in old Philadelphia tonight.

Too easy!
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."
Sublime.

I fell in love just once, why did it have to be with you? Everything happens to me.

And I think about him, now and then Every time I try and every time I win And if I ever have a boy, I'll name him ... Bill or George or Frank, anything but Sue

Dub's posts reminded me of when I talked my bandmates into doing Barbara Allen, against their better judgment. We jettisoned every nonessential verse. We modulated like Art Garfunkel did. My impression was that the audience was still bored. It could have been my singing. Anyway, there was never a second time.

I've never sung that in performance but I used to sing it a cappella to my daughters when they were little. I still know all the verses.
