Saw a note today on FB from a friend of John’s, saying he’d passed away. No other info. Anyone know anything more?

Oh, holy crap, I didn't realize you were talking about THAT John Goldbach! Sadly, it's true, his daughter posted as such and said the funeral will be July 20th in Marathon, Wis. John and I jammed together in Eau Claire a couple of times, he put me up in his manse in Hartland more than once, got me a gig or two there, and was just a great guy. Died at only 58, not sure the cause. He had gone through a divorce not too long ago, and that apparently took a lot out of him, according to a poster at a Tele site he hung out at. Damn ...

Yeah, he was a fairly regular FB poster, seemed to be in good health and good spirits.

I remember John from the Acoustic Guitar Magazine forum. Seemed like a nice guy. Sorry to hear this.

Obituary says he passed from complications of diabetes. Quite the guitar collector, he had over 60 instruments.

Sorry to learn of this. He was far too young.
