Good morning. Today we'll deal with the heat by going to Flagstaff for ten days. It's about two hours away but it's at about 7000 feet. The weather service predicts 50s-70s with monsoon rains. Those usually arrive after lunch so the mornings should be good for outings.
Enjoy your day.

Inspired by Millring I bought a bigger mailbox. Already had a larger one but with the guitar stuff I get a lot of boxes and my mail carrier stuffed one in last week so tight I had to cut a hole in the end to get it out. I think she was trying to tell me something!

Had a low of 78F and .4" in our rain gauge this morning. The nearby weather station showed .6" total for the storm that came in last night and lasted until about 4 AM. Not enough precip to get excited about in most parts of the country, but it is in Tucson.
We'll avoid the muddy paths on our walk, have a light breakfast, and be off to church. Walmart after, then not much planned for the rest of the day. Hoping for more rain later.

Overnight thunderstorms have given way to a cool clear morning. There is a brisk N/NW breeze coming across the lake this morning making it very comfortable at the cabin.
And, gas in Urbana this morning was $3,89!!
Should be a very enjoyable day here in the land of endless corn.

It's another beautiful day and I didn't get a job so I have another different solution. I'm still sad about the job. I really expected to be a candidate.
Today I will think about my son, friends and I will think a little bit about the planet and see if I can help somebody a little bit. I'll see my coffee place and see the old cronies listening jazz music.
It's still my place and I'm lucky and it's cheap and I get free food. And I also have a car I'm lucky about that....positivity and optimism....
Enjoy your days

Had a very nice 2 hr gig yesterday afternoon. Even got to see AmanaJoe as he and his wife were in town and stopped by and sat thru most of the show. Got paid $150 and made $63 in TIPs. All of which I will split with Mike Hawsworth who played with me. The weather held nicely. Probable storms waited till well after dark to raise their ugly heads. Went out for dinner and drinks with my daughter and SIL after the show, in honor of Sue's upcoming birthday. All in all a very nice day.

Currently sunny, breezy and 65, on its way to a high of 72. Good weather for dogs and people. And other critters.

A very enjoyable baseball game last night, with the Indians coming out on top. Lots (to me) of home runs. Gorgeous weather, beautiful location, and nice to see new co-workers outside of work. We're only in the office 2 days a week, so I suppose I've only spent 6 days working "live" with most of them.
Nothing on tap for today except trying to get some younger folk in the house to clean their frickin' rooms.

good afternoon. Long day yesterday. Went to Orlando to attend the Arsenal/Chelsea Florida Cup game. Arsenal (my team) outplayed Chelsea in a 4-0 victory. Good stuff. However, getting out of there and back home was another story. Camping World Stadium, where they held the match was sold out and Orlando has never developed the area so there is no easy access in and out of the area for traffic. The streets were a parking lot for over and hour after the game. Adding to that, we took an Uber to get from my daughter's hotel and since the stadium is in a rough neighborhood Uber and Lyft drivers were refusing to pick up the fares. There were literally several thousand people stranded for hours after the game. Lots of families with kids. No busses or other public transportation. After two hours we ended up calling the hotel and one of the guys wife drove out to pick us up. Then there was the two hour drive back to Spring Hill. Got home 3:30. I will never go to that stadium again.......Meanwhile, for you folks who follow the Premier League, look out for Arsenal this year....

It’s the post that holds my Star Tribune box. Hidden behind my new monstrosity.
Yes, I still get Bill’s paper every day!
