The great, late Ennio Morricone's music set to guitar and bandoneon. I purchased a while back a music booklet with 7 arraignments for guitar of his music. I was interested in Gabriel’s Oboe. I don’t know if I’ll ever get a confident handle on it, but it is lovely music. I’m also impressed by the sound of this guitar in the video. Good stuff for sure ! Thanks Evan.

This reminds me a lot of the CD Mike Dowling did with David Lange called Electricity. That combination of guitar and accordion is quite compelling.

Eclectricity is a terrific piece of work, and it has pretty clear roots in the musette tradition, which is one of my favorites.
Now that Mike Dowling lives in the Cities area, I'd love to hear him play with Dan Newton.

Eclectricity is a terrific piece of work, and it has pretty clear roots in the musette tradition, which is one of my favorites. I was thinking that a young Django got his start playing six-string banjo with an accordion player.

Yup, in the years before the fire that injured his hand (and required that he relearn how to play), he accompanied accordionists in the dance halls. There's a 1928 recording of him playing a musette waltz--with a slide whistle for extra spice:
