I'll just keep posting.
49 degrees when I got up this morning.
A very painful day, paying property tax for home, cabin and farms, estimated income tax and road fund dues for the cabin.
The good thing is we'll be playing music all afternoon.

Kinda noisy around here. The concrete contractor is tearing up the old driveway.
Bill's driveway is finished, so we can bring our lawn chairs over to Bill's and hang out on the driveway. Next week, after the new concrete cures, you can bring lawn chairs to our place and hang out. Expensive venues to entertain guests.

Estimated fed income tax coming out of the bank account today. Property tax bill is on my desk. Car insurance due. Had a good lunch yesterday at my retirees' club. Mediocre food and a very poor speaker, but good company. Looked for a comforter at a mall after with no luck and then spent big bucks at Total Wine. More errands planned for today and an early afternoon Zoom social call.

I feel like I got hit by a truck. Went to the doctor yesterday, to have some skin growths checked out. While there, they mentioned I was due for a shingles booster shot. O K, so I get the shot, and woke up in the middle of the night running a low grade fever, chills, aches, sore arm where I got the the shot, just the full meal deal. Apparently the shingles booster provokes a strong immune response. Way worse than anything I ever felt from Covid shots, flu shots etc. Beyond that, everything is Jake. Hosting a barbeque tonight for Airstream friends, Sous vide a pork loin, will Finnish on the smoker today.

69F-81F Sunny.
Somebody left a kitchen window open last night and BOY was that floor cold when I got up at 6:00 to make coffee for DaWife.
Very nice meal at Brunson's Pub last night courtesy of buddy Mosh. I think Bill liked that place too.
Been down in the shop already today and just taking a break.

Tonight is the first night of the Hey Nonny Songwriting Contest. I am one of 13 performers tonight. The top 4 contestants from each 3 nights of preliminaries will move on to the finals in 3 weeks. I'd really like to make the finals. We'll see how it goes tonight. The first prize is $1,000. But there are a lot of good people. I'd be very happy to just make the top 12.  |

We had some major tree work done yesterday. I thought of your driveway project Bill.
They arrived at 7:30 like an invading army. Dan Klimek the boss and four workers. Ton of equipment. They attacked the place in a coordinated operation that was like a well rehearsed ballet and when the dust settled three hours later the trees were gone, every last wood chip cleaned up and the bill stuck in the front door.
They had these big strips of thick wide poly to lay under the tires of the bucket truck and no damage to the grass at all. Real pros.

I feel like I got hit by a truck. The Shingrix shot can be a real bear. I was braced for a day or so of misery, but I got lucky. Probably means my immune system (which is all kinds of odd thanks to myasthenia and its treatment drug) is too confused or just too lazy to respond. I'm bracing again for for next week, when I should get Covid shot #5--though the first four were no worse than the annual flu jab. Still, one never knows, does one. |

We’ll it was a fun night at the Hey Nonny Songwriting Contest. I actually eeked out a top 4 finish out of 11 participants. So I get to move on to the finals in 3 weeks. That will be cool. But there was a 16 year old girl who stole the show. She’s VERY good and would be the only contender for the big prize from our group. 2 more groups “compete” in the next two weeks. I’m happy (The owner’s wife laughed and told me I was selected because I wore a Hey Nonny t-shirt.  - I’m no dummy ) |
