After lows in the 20s last week, it’s supposed to be 77 today. Yesterday was gorgeous & it looks like today is shaping up to be the same. Enjoy what you get.

Gonna be hot here today, 80 something. I'll soon be heading to the cabin to have fun blowing leaves and then bring the garden tractor home for the winter.
Got in a 26 mile bike ride yesterday.

Good morning
41F-77F mostly sunny.
Shop time until noon, then not sure what happens, she'll tell me.
Old buddy called yesterday and said he's bringing over a few young men this morning that want to make guitars. It's a balance between encouraging them and telling them not to quit school or their day jobs. Although their winter evenings and weekends could be spent working on guitars I would never want them to let their school work decline like I did. I will, as always, tell them to start with a kit and show them the minimum tools needed to make one from scratch.

Only got down to 67 last night, which is warmer than forecast. Mr. H will be making biscuits and gravy. Then we'll walk some of it off. The plan for this afternoon is to drive about 40 miles south for a Fall Festival in Vail. However, winds over 30 mph are predicted, so we may have to find a Plan B. Feeling the need to venture farther than 8 miles from home and find something to do other than going out to eat.

Good morning. We'll have 80s too. Tomorrow the temperatures start dropping.
At my wife's request, we'll go to a gardening show this morning. I'll probably enjoy it as well.
Enjoy your day.

Hosting our first dinner party in our new home as a married couple. The invitation read, “Party with the Pavelchik’s.” Prime rib and salmon on the grill, asparagus, gorgeous garden salad etc. etc. etc. Six of the eight people present today are musicians and bringing their instruments. The temperature for today is supposed to be in the 70’s. I foresee music on the deck. It’s going to be a fun party.
Heading to Holy Hill for Mass tomorrow morning. Scott and I went to Mass at Holy Hill the first weekend we started dating. We thought that would be a good way to start a new relationship. I believe we were correct.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

It looks to be wet most of the day, but I will get out to the bark park anyway. I got the new tires on the motorcycle trailer yesterday. I am taking my two sons, their dogs, and a. motorcycle to eastern Oregon for a chukar hunt in a couple weeks. We will be dry camping, something I have not done in many years. I might be too old for this!

Got a cordless Milwaukee leaf blower yesterday. Today I will be blowing lawn leaves into the flower beds where they can first winter insulate and then, come spring, decompose and soil build. I run the mower over the the leaves first so that the lawn gets the fine particles and that the leaves the garden gets are slightly chopped, which will hasten the breakdown process come spring.
(that Milwaukee cordless blower is pretty slick... and not that noisy. Milwaukee: Good tools, Good beer!)

Beautiful day. Tapered and radiused a couple of Brazilian fretboards for the two current builds. This afternoon we tackle the garage aka the Augean Stables.

The gardening show was interesting. One booth was operated by a group of chefs (as they described it) who visit schools and teach kids how to grow food. They start gardens at some of the schools. I thought that was very cool.

What a beautiful day, highs in the 70s. I hung my laundry outside. Now for a long walk on the nature trail, then some grocery shopping. Then out on the back deck playing guitar and smoking some ribs.

Cool and drippy here. The daughter unit came over this morning and we made up a a batch of my dad’s recipe for brining salmon prior to smoking it. We now have about 6lbs of Cojo salmon soaking in the brine, in the fridge, and it will go on the smoker tomorrow am for about four hours. Smoked salmon is so good.
That’s pretty much the day, maybe a nap this afternoon.

Mellow day. Wife is off on Long Island helping her mother with things, I have been hanging with the younger offspring, running an errand or two, preparing lunch, munching cider donuts from the green market, watching an episode of House of Dragons. Not really my thing, but she asked me to watch it with her, and you know, any chance for a bonding thing is good enough for me. Doing laundry, then going to take the dog for a stroll.
Sunny and lovely here today. Good wishes to all.

Spent a day and a half in Denver last week to see our niece in a production of Much Ado About Nothing and find I brought home a cold, courtesy of our seven-year-old grand-niece. I'm pretty sure it's not Covid because 1) it acts exactly like every head cold I've ever had and 2) our niece also caught Madeleine's cold, but still tests negative. (She has to test repeatedly to keep the play playing.) I suppose I should test, just to make sure, but the dripping nose and watering eyes don't sound like any version of Covid I've read about.
The reason for the flying (literally) trip was to see Dana as Beatrice, one of the last big Shakespeare romantic roles she hadn't done yet. The production and cast are very good, with not a spear-carrier in sight, and Dana was born to play that part. She's right at the cusp of the difficult age for an actress, but Beatrice and Benedick can be cast as middle-aged without doing violence to the text--we saw it done that way at Stratford (Ontario) when she was in the company. (In fact, B & B were both in their fifties in that production.)
Downtown Denver is a pretty cool place, and the theater district is very impressive, though a trip out into the countryside beyond the suburbs (Madeleine was promised a pumpkin-patch experience) cured me of any fantasies of living in such a dry environment.
