Posted on a luthier forum. Cable guy drills through a wall, guitar case, and an HD28. Fairly close to the right spot for a jack.

I’ve seen that photo somewhere. Probably here in days gone by. What are the chances?
I used to have an old Gibson with a hole like that only rougher. It had been made to accommodate a pickup cable but the pickup and jack were long gone. I loved that guitar. It had been played by Rev. Gary Davis, Big Joe Williams, Sleepy John Estes, Peter Coyote, and others I can’t even remember. I let a student borrow it and it was stolen. Sigh

You could just put a black chassis plug in it and let it go with that. Same for the case.
The fix is to fit a plug of rosewood with as close of grain match as possible.
The hole needs to be a common plug size like 3/8" but larger if the hole is larger, 1/2" is a common plug cutter size. Or if you can turn a plug to the closest drill size.
You have to pull a patch inside larger than the plug, 1 " is good. Glue the patch inside by pulling in with a string clamp or by magnet. The inside area must be clean and sanded.
Glue the plug in, watch the grain direction, after dry level and sand or scrape it flush with the side. Using a scraper will minimize the amount of finish removed
It will need a matching filler before touching up the finish.
EDIT: Not quite like that but plenty of jack holes drilled through the side like that.
I've also seen a complete case (6 guitars) run through by a forklift. Hit every guitar in the case dead center through the top and back. No I did not fix them, we let the insurance take them.

termites
I would cut out a diamond pattern and fill in each of the diamonds with a contrasting wood diamond running all the way around the side of the guitar. When life hands you lemons you might as well make a diamond inlay pattern.
Make it a harlequin pattern and call it intentional.

Cable guys are dangerous drillers. They will go through anything in their way to install that cable.
