The cans are out and awaiting pickup. I shall sit by the window and listen for the rumble of big, blue trucks.

LJ, you beat me to it. I was busy reading some of the newer threads.
Windy and warm with some rain in New York this morning.
Here are my friends, Len and Dennis.

It is sunny 16° and really windy today. I am off to play Santa for a staff play for kids at an elementary school this morning. Dealing with the Santa suit is a pain in the butt, but sometimes you just do the right thing.

Good morning. Sunup is imminent. It'll be 40ish-70ish here. I'll have lunch with a friend I haven't seen since pre-pandemic times. Enjoy your day. Yea, verily.

Good morning.
8F-22F partly cloudy.
Had to get up early and move the truck before the snow plows come by. Now all we have to do is see if the recycling gets picked up before the plow comes by,then we just pull the bin back to the house. Or if the plow comes by first, then we have to dig out the bin or it won't get emptied.
I made muffins last night, Almond poppyseed, yummy. I always put them on top of the stove to cool before I put them in the storage container. DaWife had two in her before they cooled.

Our snowfall yesterday reminded me of a winter storm we had in the 1980s, which was forecast to be followed the next day by a second significant round. So the overnight hedline (which I, thankfully, did not write) was as follows:
9 inches, but don't relax yet
One of my bawdier colleagues had a clipping of that one pinned up in her cubicle for years.

"I shall sit by the window and listen for the rumble of big, blue trucks."
This sounds like the beginning of a poem by T. S. Eliot. "Trash Wednesday," maybe.

Still fighting the cold sore throat thing. Managed to pass it on to Anita. The timing could have been better. What can you do? We made a spicy chicken soup for dinner last night, which we will also have for lunch today. Hopefully the chicken soup will help.

Good morning
I just went to my cardio doctor and he said "you had a enlarged heart......your heart is normal now". I was lucky to get that aortic stenosis valve. I have about six months of being alive..... and more
The next topic (PBS Masters).... Buddy Guy: The Blues Chase The Blue Away. "amazin' music and spirituality"
Enjoy your day

It Windsday here, wind is howling, but we lucked out and avoided the snow. Kind of glad I don't live in the twin cities today.
I got up at 3:00 am and took a package of pepper bacon out of the freezer. The plan is to make my famous chicken, noodle, pepper bacon, 3 cheese casserole today. I'll make one big pan and freeze it for our ski trip in January.

Annual visit to the ophthalmologist later this morning. Mr. H will be taking me. Last year I drove myself and managed to get home in one piece, but probably not a great idea. Our next door neighbor told us that he tested positive for COVID yesterday. Mr. H was just talking to him in person a day or two before that, but it was outside, so fingers crossed.

My wife gets her new car today - a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited. Bells and whistles galore. She keeps telling me it might be her last car so she wanted to get everything on it. I remain satisfied with my 2008 4Runner, though I would like to borrow Mike's pickup occasionally.
My gate project might be put on hold for a few months. I have been reading about good curing temperatures for cement: 50 to 60 F is recommended. I doubt we will see those temps untill spring.

Cataract surgery is in my future. Just a question of whether I want to do it now or later. Lots of reasons to do it now.

Just back from central Nebraska a few minutes ago. Roads were decent. Drivers courteous. Just a little ice on the edges in NE and southern SD. Strong NW wind.
Lowest gas was $3.08 in Appleton MN.
