Up and at 'em, western hemisphere people. Finally some snow here (yuk), but while cycling season is over, I went for a walk: (not deep enough to even consider snowshoes)

Boy, do I ever.
That apricot jelly doughnut last night was either heavenly or a mistake or both.
Hoping everyone can slide through their day today.

Terrific pictures, jdd. I don't know that I've ever seen bamboo in snow before. It has a unique look.
Good morning, all. Looks like it's in the high 30s here, headed for 62.
Last night there was a travel show about Phoenix on PBS' Places to Love. It was very interesting to see this place as a visitor might see it. We take everything for granted. They accentuated the positive and ignored the negative but it was good to be reminded of the positive things.
I'll shop for a few more stocking-stuffers this morning. Enjoy your day.

9 degrees here. A blizzard is predicted for the end of the week. I hope they are wrong about that. Get out the heavy socks.

The forecast for the upper Midwest looks pretty awful. Also Montana. Cut Bank will have several days with highs around -15 with wind chills as low as -50.

Morning. Another damp and chilly day today, but not too bad. However there are rumblings about a posiibke little ice storm moving in on Friday. I hope the weather dudes be wrong.

11 degrees here now, I can live with that, but I don't like the forecast for Thursday and Friday. I plan to go to Wisconsin for Christmas and my travel schedule may have to be adjusted. I guess I'll have to be ready to travel early and then watch and see how and when the storm develops.
About five years ago we had weather like this, right after Christmas. We skied on the 26th, 27th and 28th, Tyrole Basin, Sundown and Galena. The high temp for that 3 day period was 8 degrees. And we drove from Galena back to Stoughton in a snow storm.
What were we thinking?

Good morning
-1F- 15F cloudy. Cloudy is good when it's really cold and there is snow on the ground. Clouds hold what little heat there is down whereas sun just reflects off the snow warming nothing.
Hopefully just shop work today. Riley is doing fine, going out as usual although when it's this cold they don't stay out long. You can feel the bump on his tail if you're careful, he doesn't complain, not hiding and he's eating. Betcha he'll have a little kink in it when healed.

Clouds have lifted here, nothing but brutal frigid sunshine out there. Seems like a good day to hit Culver's for a Reuben and some onion rings.

Heading to the airport this evening at 11:30pm with my wife to pick up her son. He is an ESL teacher in Japan and hasn't been back to the States in three years due to covid. I have never met him in person. It should be a happy time!
Have good ones.

Places to Love has my favorite host, Samantha Brown. The sexiest woman on PBS. Maureen and I watch her after dinner most week days. She is adorable in a sweet middle aged way.

Great conversationalist. Listens even better than she speaks. That is what’s most important in an interviewer.
