a ten hour day. For the first time since early November I got home before the sun set.
There's a great love story in alfalfa but the only lovers it could be about are Ralph and Alice. Ralphalice-a. Bang, zoom, you're going to the moon.

Meanwhile, urban reality: Every winter I wonder why people live there. Then I remember that they are hardy folk who thrive on hard work, cold weather and hot lovin'.

Well, I had my Cataract consultation. The Dr. was impressed by just how bad my eyes are. He can't say he can fix them but he can make them better than they are now. I'll need custom made lenses that Medicare won't fully cover and there will be out-of-pocket charges, don't know how much, but it's the best he can do for me. In his opinion, I'm way farsighted and have an amazing astigmatism. I kind of knew that. My alignment is past the limits of the measurement rulers but if he changed it I might have double vision which would be worse. I'll await a call about scheduling and estimated cost. He didn't know how long it would take but they're booked up solid. I told him that if I can't drive I can't live here so it has to be done. I've been taking Mary to retinal specialists for over 40 years and there's not much they can do for her either so I guess I know how she feels anyway. Old age sucks but it's irreversible so it is what it is.

There's tons of weather in California - mud slides, horrible heavy traffic, bald tires with bald drivers, rubber boots, yellow rain gear, Pancho aka poncho, pith hats etc etc...... I'm lucky I have a car/truck - Honda Element/Ridgeline (the chassis is equal)
This one is a good story……………….. The Bolinas Liquor Market - I get my SF newspaper there (with bills/coins)but today I did one on my VISA card and it was on $91. It’s good that I saw my Bank of America on the website………… here’s one with a card - (hustler, scam, swindle ) This is like that other Gas&Shop station in San Anselmo - different hustler…….. I told that person (loudly) that I need the money $88.25…… I finally got it….$88.25 You make sure you don’t have anything with debit/credit cards so simple with green bills or coins - Convenience Owner Stores (3rd world with no truth)"
I actually enjoy most of my cardio/doctors from India and Mexico and Guatemala - and of course some New Yankees -
A few docs - I can't remember what they talk about anything if they're from the southern crackers with marbles in their mouths....
((((Shannon has a good diction)))

Bruce, I'm sorry the news isn't better but I'm glad that some improvement is possible. I hope it's enough.
As for the expense, I winced too, but I can't think of many things it's more important to protect than vision. If yours is improved, it'll be worth it.
Yeah, old age sucks in some ways.

Bruce, sorry your prognosis isn't better. And I do understand about needing to drive. I do most of the driving, although Mr. H will drive short distances in good weather. In the middle of Tucson where we live now we could maybe get by with neither of us being able to drive, but our lifestyle would definitely change. Back when we lived out in the sticks it would have been very difficult. What pushed me into getting my cataract surgeries scheduled was the thought that I might not pass the vision test to renew my license in a few months. That and the ophthalmologist saying that cataracts don't spontaneously get better. They only get worse.

Looks like we are gonna total out at a foot of snow in the past two days. The Roseville plow made two visits today, leaving what would have been an impenetrable wall for my low-slung car but right before the sun went down, RTD Snowplowing showed up for the second time in 24 hours and cleared me out, a good feeling indeed. I had nowhere to go today/tonight, but it's comforting to know I can get somewhere if I need to.

The last time of my evening I had a redeem reward $141 for five years. I didn’t have the award. Did you leave? My package was six dollars. So I decided to get a dozen. So decided to get a dozen. That’s my rash relaxin’ for a month. It was $70 for 120. I bought the Jan relaxing THC Medicine. I still not get wrecked. I just have the normal high. Not the old high addictive drugs. Now I have the 120 gummies for the month. Part of my medicine was incredibly cheap - woohoo
I did check all the dozen packages to the freezer - I actually had 15 packages - a gift or a misteak - $.50 gummies

Today at Wirth Park in Minneapolis (Strib photo): I can't help but remember my first trip up to Minnie for my first Rosejam. It was December 15th, I think. Temps were 65 degrees. And as I drove thru Como Park, there was a group of people in sweat suits, sneakers, and ski poles practicing their cross-country ski techniques in the sunny grass.
